Another pic from this morning's ride. (Sorry for the crappy cell phone quality).

Bent my front rim :(

More of a tweak really as I can still ride on it, but it is losing air over a few days time. Have to see what I can do with 2x4 and hammer to nudge back...

This cost silly amounts of $$$, but I am really happy with it! :D

I put 234 miles of TN and NC on Redbug today and averaged 79.1mpg. If the seat was more comfortable I'd really love this machine. With the factory seat, I just love this machine.

Got a link to that taillight?

SP Takegawa from Webike Japan

SP TAKEGAWA (Special Parts TAKEG : LED Tail Lamp [05-08-0299]

The quality is indistinguishable from Honda, really, really impressive. I've seen cheaper similar looking examples on the 'net for years, and there are even cheaper versions sold by Webike, made by different manufacturers that very well may be as good (or even made in the same factory lol), but I was nervous about spending almost as much money, but perhaps getting something that looked and felt cheap once in hand, and was truly worried that it would not have that "OEM led" look I was going for.

As a very welcome bonus, it was the easiest aftermarket accessory I've ever installed, and everything was truly plug and play.

Placed the order on Friday at 4:47 pm, and it was in Canada customs from Japan by 9:31 pm Saturday night. Arrived at my door first thing Monday morning. (And that wasn't even the fastest shipping option!)

Added some lockable storage space on top of the HondaBikePro rack using one-way-only machine screws. I can lock my helmet here too (this helmet just happened to be handy at the time but I prefer modulars) if I end up filling both cases. Got the Pelican Air 1485 used for $85, which is cheaper than the Rotopax bracket and lock I was originally going to put on the Dale rack. I can always add that Rotopax bracket setup too if desired. Between camera gear and glass, extra clothing layers and spare gloves, 1-gallon Rotopax and other stuff, this should make it easier to carry hiking gear and clothes without worrying about theft. Under the HondaBikePro rack I have a toolkit in a bag that fills the space and is easily accessible.

The 1485 was just right to allow gas cap access and alllow me to stretch back, about the width of the Top Case too, and not so tall it makes mounting the seat any different than it was before. I've already got it figured out for camping too, with the addition of cheap soft bags on the side and if needed duffle on top of the Pelican. But right now, between the frunk, the Pelican, and the Hepco & Becker Junior 55 I can really carry a lot and lock it, without increasing my wind profile or width!

(One of these days I need to buy another Sit & Fly and do the entire seat, instead of just using a remnant from the one I used for the stock seat.)

Indirect Fire

Missed the tag thread with this so I'll post here. This is where I work and used to tell these bubbas where to shoot and luckily never been part of a "short round" on my OP.

The last two days the weather forecasts have said "Thunderstorms and heavy rains around 4pm". I rode to work anyways.. and guess what, smooth dry rides home. Funny though, hardly a bike on the highways this morning or at 5pm. SUCKERS. I got panniers with rain gear in em.. it's 90 deg... who cares if it rains!!!

I don't mind riding home in the rain but it sucks showing up to work and finding a weak spot in your rain gear let you down and starting your day with a wet crotch or wet socks

I have found some spray on waterproof stuff helps with my riding pants. I'm currently shopping for new boots. ALPINESTARS WEB BLACK GORETEX BOOTS are on the shortlist at the moment but will check out more options this Saturday.

M109? I've watched these things in action. We were normally supported by the towed version.

There is a very funny story about shells landing short in Andy Rooney's My War. Highly recommended. There are some horrible not so funny bits as well.

As far as my DCT, I walked past it and rode my DRZ 400 around. A very fun bike. Lightweight, easy and accurate steering, and the way the whole bike shakes when you twist the throttle is amazing. The seat, however, could be used to torture spies.

Can't speak to those particular boots as I haven't used them. I can speak to the Forma Adventure Low boots though (they come in a 'regular' version too - much higher up the shin). These are almost hiking boot comfortable after a little break-in. They've kept my feet warm & dry but also not too hot either! The 2-buckle closure means they take seconds to put on/take off. They're also about $60 less at Revzilla, although you can get them even cheaper from Italy if you're patient on the shipping!

Had parking brake cable lengthened 2" and reinstalled. Rox risers caused tension on parking brake cable at full lock. Only cost $15 at Barnett Clutch and Cable.
Barnett Tool & Engineering NO MORE STRESS! and I took some upside down photos again. Not going to bother posting and fixing rotation, use your imagination.
