Puig (or other) windshield using Madstad adjustable bracket?

Would this be possible - to install a Puig windshield (or any other cool looking windshield) using Madstad adjustable brackets?
Without re-drilling the new cooler looking windshield that is...

I was thinking of the following:
Adding a new metal bracket that would span the distance between the mounting points on the brackets and securing that down.
Drilling new holes in that metal bracket to match up to the windshield.
Adding a taller rubber washer at the new holes so when the windshield rests on it, it would be taller than the bolts/screws used to secure the new metal bracket that spans the mounting points on the Madstad bracket.
Bolting on new windshield to the new metal bracket.

Would this work?
Get the cooler looks of a Puig screen with the function and adjust-ability of a Madstad bracket.

Sounds like it would work ....

I'm tried a couple of other windscreens on the MadStad brackets, (both worked well) ... but after spending some time to get the placement right, I just drilled four holes
