    Looking for saddlebag advice

Well, after reading all your replies, reading reviews and such, I leaning towards the Givi Trekkor Outback 37L in black, these guys. Thanks for the info on buying from the Italian site. It gives me a little pause thinking about difficulty returning if damaged, but it's also hard to ignore $400...

    Looking for saddlebag advice

Thanks, I will message you. If you are ever in Duluth it's worth stopping at the store. Friendly atmosphere and lots of different items, not just the Aerostich products. They make the suits right there. Also the owner keeps a nice little bookshelf of motorcycle related classics.

    best gearing

Thanks guys, I'll ride for the summer and see how it goes. I've been using it for light commuting over the years, but now my brother is buying an Africa Twin and we are planning some kind of late summer or fall tour, hence the questions about luggage and gearing. More likely to follow : ).

    best gearing

I have a 2013 nc700x, and finally have been riding it on the interstate a little. Usually I've stuck to slower roads. As you might guess, the gearing seems a little low for speeds of 70-80 mph, spinning the engine over 4000 rpm (fine for other bikes, but feels high with our low redline). I kept...

    Looking for saddlebag advice

Thanks, good to know. I need to find a Givi dealer somewhere I suppose and see what the options are. Our town (Duluth) is home to the apparel maker Aerostich, and they have a store that sells some waterproof soft bags (I forget the brand, but they also make bicycle bags).

    Looking for saddlebag advice

Thanks, the red paint job looks great. I'm guessing that the set sold through Honda Direct at Amazon is just for the bags? It's confusing because they picture the trunk as well.

    Looking for saddlebag advice

Hi folks, I have a 2013 red nc700x and finally want to get some luggage. I met another guy with the same bike the other day and he really likes his Honda set. Looks like they only come in silver. Is that correct? I'm certainly open to cheaper soft luggage solutions if people have...

    Windshield Burn (ever seen this?)

Thanks guys, I guess I should have Googled first since it seems to be so common. Another thing the Frunk is good for.... carrying something to cover the instruments with. I'm happy the thing still works. Half an inch higher and I'd likely have to buy a new one.

    Windshield Burn (ever seen this?)

This one is new for me. I bought a National Cycle touring windshield for my NC700X last year. Love it. Really cuts the wind and buffeting. But one morning my wife and I went to a craft show and parked the motorcycle in the sun, facing West, with the sun rising from the rear. When I drove off I...

    Ah... Comfort, at last

I was wondering if any of you Daylong owners have spouses who have commented on the passenger seat if you have a "dual." This looks like a more comfortable seat than a Corbin, but I was wondering if they put much into (or are able to) the little passenger platform...

    Digital owner's manual?

I took my owner's manual out of the bike to read it and misplaced it when I moved. I've looked at Honda for a PDF version but did not see one. Is it hidden away somewhere? I'd like to have it on my phone.

    My best upgrade so far

Sometime around Christmas I started doing regular exercise, nothing big, just 7 minutes a day, 12 exercises total, don't even take my jeans off, keep it simple. Just enough to get me winded and feel it in my arms and legs and get the heart rate up (It's the NYTimes exercise routine and there are...

    most comfortable aftermarket passenger seat

Thanks, Saddlemen sounds like a good bet all around.

    most comfortable aftermarket passenger seat

I know there are several options out there for a more comfortable seat for me on my NX700, but I'm wondering if any consensus has emerged about who does the best job on the little passenger perch our significant others sometimes put up with, whether it's a full package front/back redo, or a...

    Crankcase number? Registering in Minnesota

Thanks, Grey1one's sketch solved my mystery. Might be a little different with the XA.

    Crankcase number? Registering in Minnesota

Thanks!. With a flashlight I was able to just see it through a gap behind the front of the shift lever. Mission accomplished.

    Crankcase number? Registering in Minnesota

Hi folks, maybe a Minnesotan or former Minnesotan can help here. I moved to Duluth this summer and today tried to register my NC700X. The lady at the counter said that in addition to the usual VIN I needed the crankcase number from the bike, that it should be on the side of the crankcase. Am I...

FINALLY ready to pull the trigger!

Congratulations. You might want to swing for a centerstand soon if not now. I really like having one.

    NC700X vs. Suburban

Not good, but good to see you typing away still. Coincidentally, my brother in Seattle, on a V-Strom, also in full protective gear, also ran into a Suburban last week when it pulled in front of him. He was out for an hour, woke up in the hospital with his wife looking at him, fractured pelvis...

Looks like the NC750 has been confirmed

I have no bad feelings. I'm sure they have reasons for it, and maybe someday in the future if I want an upgrade I'll check one out. It will be interesting to see if they offer more refinements other than the displacement increase. Like others I wouldn't mind a touch more room on the rev ceiling...
