I had one of those. I found it took up too much space for the amount I used it.

Glad I didn't offend. Hate to see someone new get in too deep with modifications. Sure can make a positive experience turn bad. I'm all for anyone learning to dig into your bike and learning what makes it tick, or clunk, or whir, or bang. :eek:

I don't want to sound like an asshole but it seems to me that you would be very wise to find someone, that has some mechanical ability, to give you a hand. I know of a number of cases where a simple accessory installation became a sad, and occasionally expensive, activity.

Sorry to hear about the unemployment....but with time to ride and oysters for lunch, you're making the most of it, at least.

Am I the only one that noticed the mention of a 150 mile ride to lunch....on a Wednesday? Somebody's living better than I am, for sure!

Careful with the compressed air, as with high pressure washers....the high pressure can force water past seals in bearings.

Problem I've found with almost all aftermarket mirrors is that they vibrate, making it hard to see what's behind you. You know there's something back there, just not whether it's a Winnebago full of happy nuns or an angry cop. :eek:

A comfy seat, higher handlebars, lower footpegs, a MadStad and some bags....makes for a pretty spectacular mile muncher. I did this route in 2008.

I'll put my money on the turbulence. Just wait until you try the Strom under the same conditions. Ask Heavy-H, he and I both own(ed) Stroms. They are pretty well known for moving around on the highway when there is traffic to influence the air flow. Do a little poking around at...

Trust me, I'm kidding. I used to spend the money for AMSOIL but switched to the Rotella T6 and have no thoughts of going back to silly-expensive oil.

That's the trick that works best for me. Get close to the edge of the sensor area and use centre, or side, stand to get some metal closer to the loop.

Normally, I use my stock reply to oil threads, but, if Motul really looks like Predator blood and smells like bananas, count me in!
