The R1 top shock mount has 2 bushings that are held in by o-rings. They are too wide for the NC top bracket. I have a lathe so shortening these bushings was no problem. Both the R1 and NC use the same size bottom bearing on the shock. Simply pull the inner bearing race out of the NC shock and...
Sorry no pics but pretty much a straight swap if you're handy and have a manual. The top bolt is tough to get to but the last time I had mine apart I drilled and access hole in the plastic cover on the right side. A little tricky to get the shock in from the bottom but it does go in without...
Got a brand new 2015 R1 shock for 75.00. Stuck it on. Just had to shorten the top bushings. made a couple spacers for the bottom. Used the bottom bearing race from the stock shock. Shock fits great, Didn't have to move anything. Just went for a short ride. Like riding on a pillow. Amazing...
Completely agree on the K&N. Hold one up to a bright light some time. You can see light shining through. Very poor engineering on Hondas part. Air cleaner change should be a 5 minute affair.
I wish I had done that. I ordered the center stand when I bought the bike. I later lowered it. Now it takes a great effort to put it on the center stand. I usually get help.

Just bought a Royal Enfield Bullet and with any luck, in a couple years will have this beast for my own. Not the fastest bike mind you. But is there anything more beautiful?:p
I voted no, but this only applies to the NC700. The engine is purpose built for an auto trans in my opinion. Perfect for general transportation. If I want a thrill I jump on my other bikes.
Wonder if Honda will turbocharge the NC?
Just thinking out loud. Seems like it would be ideal for turbo charging. Lower the compression ratio a bit and put in stiffer valve springs for a 2000 RPM rise in the red line. This would add about 20 HP and about 20 ft lbs of torque and would probably...
No headache at all, they might even be willing to do it while you wait. Flat rate for the change is .3 hours so it only takes a few minutes. Got mine done a week ago.
