I sat on them both (R1200GS & F800GS) at the BMW dealer in Bentonville, last month. The 1200gs seat seems an inch or so lower and the weight seems to be carried lower, probably from the boxer engine vs the parallel twin on the f800. They are too pricey for me.

I would get a high flow air filter and exhaust, and send out the ecm to have the air-fuel adjustments made and have the rev limiter raised 1000 rpm. If that's not enough of an improvement, probably need to purchase a more powerful bike.

The glove box on my FJR only opens with ignition on. I keep my wallet and garage door opener in it. Wish the NC opened the same, esp coming home late at night.
From what I've been told, tires have some sort of release agent on them leftover from the molding process. In some cases the residue can cause tires to be slick until its worn off.
