Has anyone used ceramic motorcycle wheel bearings?

In the trucking industry there is a lot of talk about low friction bearings to ad in fuel cost reduction. Microblue is only company I've heard of, I think its just a coating of sort. I'm sure the wheel bearing and engine bearing in any vehicle could be done, and would benefit from it...

I had a BIG ADVENTURE today.....

I sat on them both (R1200GS & F800GS) at the BMW dealer in Bentonville, last month. The 1200gs seat seems an inch or so lower and the weight seems to be carried lower, probably from the boxer engine vs the parallel twin on the f800. They are too pricey for me.

Battery question: How long before I need to charge her up in winter conditions?

I haven't ever had to charge a motorcycle battery as of yet, but the longest I've let one sit w/out being started was 90 days. Not sure how long your winter is, but I would think it would be fine w/out being charged. My opinion is that batteries are better today than the old ones were, and...

    big bore/stroker kit?

I would get a high flow air filter and exhaust, and send out the ecm to have the air-fuel adjustments made and have the rev limiter raised 1000 rpm. If that's not enough of an improvement, probably need to purchase a more powerful bike.

    A quieter helmet

I purchased one in June, most comfortable well ventilated helmet I've ever put on my head. You won't be disappointed with that choice IMHO.

What do you do to be more "visible"?

! think it doesn't matter what you wear, what color your bike is, or even flashing lights, people just don't pay attention while driving. My job as a heavy haul truck driver allows me to witness this multiple per day. I drive a bright red Kenworth with the headlights on,yellow oversize load...

    Confusing fuel mileage

It could be the percentage of ethanol in the fuel, at different gas stations. The higher the ethanol level the lower the fuel mileage will be.

    Frunk open button Mod

The glove box on my FJR only opens with ignition on. I keep my wallet and garage door opener in it. Wish the NC opened the same, esp coming home late at night.

So what did you do TO your NC700 today.

Did you take the side panel loose to remove the oil filter? I was able to take it off using oil filter pliers, leaving the panels intact.

    Lowering the front...

They were talking about lowering it 3-7mm not inches. I would say there will be no difference felt.

tires: new set of Mich. Pilot Road 2s... break in? Prep?

From what I've been told, tires have some sort of release agent on them leftover from the molding process. In some cases the residue can cause tires to be slick until its worn off.
