Went for a long ride yesterday -- 453.5 miles made it the longest yet on the NC for me. Made a loop around West Texas.

Rode the 'Three Sisters', or 'Twisted Sisters' -- RR 335, 336, and 337. They aren't 'The Dragon' or anything, but they're about the best we've got in Texas. The eastern half of 337 is especially good. There are some really tight twisty bits, but most of them suffer from a lack of sight lines. You can't see through a whole turn, let alone a series of turns like you can on the truly great moto roads. So, unless you know the roads by heart, you're best off to take it easy and ride a spirited 80% kind of ride -- still a good time.

Good day -- I was surprisingly not worn out when I got home, much more refreshed than when I've done the same loop on my previous bike -- a Bandit 1250S.

Mind if I ask what you paid including shipping? I've listened to the Beowulf on Youtube and for me, it's the best sounding exhaust. What do you think, you like? Any problems with it? Thanks a lot.

Did some remaining paintjobs:

Ordered my Barkbuster Storm S1 handguards and a front fender extender. Waiting somewhat patiently, my madstad should be here sometime today.... Had snow again test, but plus 5 today and plus 10 tom so hoping the runoff is gone by tom.

I got it for right under $300 USD delivered.

Here's the YouTube video me and a buddy made if you haven't seen it already...

No problems, but there's a lifetime warranty if I ever do. Not loud, but a really nice tone.

That's funny, that's the video I was talking about! I am guessing it is easy to put on and needs no special skills (because I have none!)? Thanks a lot for the info.

Just unbolt the stocker, spread around some copper gasket grease or the like, and bolt on the new one. The supplied clamps by Beowulf are kind of crappy, but they seem to be doing their job so far.

Got to do some running around today, man it was windy. That bike sure handles the wind, from what I can tell the only part of it that catches the wind is me. That low centre of gravity keeps it straight even in the worst side winds. The madstad finally came in this afternoon. VERY happy with it. What a difference. I can hear and my head isn't bouncing. The dealer took my honda touring shield back, didnt argue at all. i told them it didnt work and they said well if it doesnt work we will take it back. Didnt even have the original packaging as the dealor installed it when i bought the bike. What a joke it was in comparison to the new one. Got it in dark grey, a little dark for night riding but blends the aluminum plate in nicely and adds to my bike as its black.

Took about 350 km-s on country road, did 1 refuelling at 315km with 9,5 liters. Fuel consumpsion is 3.0 liter/100 km
Almost unbelievable.... avg. speed is from 70-110 km.
