Hydraulic brake fluid does not circulate through the system of hoses and pistons. It merely moves back and forth and not by much. changing the fluid in the reservoir will be ineffective in removing contamination throughout the rest of the system. Bleeding the whole system is the only way to ensure continued performance. Simple to do on non ABS bikes. Mask off all painted surfaces, Remove calipers and compress slave cylinders, replace calipers, loosen bleeder valve on brake caliper, actuate lever (or pedal) repeatedly until fluid runs clean making sure reservoir stays half full minimum, Tighten bleeder valve, actuate lever(or pedal) until brakes grab, top off reservoir, test ride, ride, ride, ride! Am ignorant on how to do the ABS.
