Here's a couple pictures of my last Ice House -Wentworh Springs weapon. It was built as an AFM/ AMA Superbike Racer to the tune of around 30-40K invested , than AMA opened the class to 1000cc 4 cylinder bikes , so it sat in the corner of the builders shop and he traded it to a handyman for expanding his shop. And he left it @ an ex girlfriends home and owed her money and told her to sell it. She advertized it for 3K and I grabbed it and installed a battery starter lights wiring harness etc and took the slicks off. It was a blast having 140HP carburated motor in a MC weighing less than 450LBS. But it was stolen and than my left hand stopped being able to operate a clutch lever or much else . I do miss this beast , but love the NC700X DCT because it allows me to keep straffing apexes on my favorite roads in the Sierra's . Still have a ZRX , Kawasaki H1 and H2 ( like the 1 I roadraced in the 70's in AFM ) and numerous other bikes I should sell . Also added a few pics of other bikes in my collection Pic are Honda VFR RR x2 ; Kawasaki A7RA x 2 : a NOS American Eagle Cheeta w 2.2 miles on it ; Kawasaki H1 and H2 and a Kawasaki H1RA

I washed, waxed and rust protected the metal parts after work this evening.

Spent a good three hours on the task, and celebrated by going for a couple hours across the New Forest.

Home eventually ...and with the film of dead midges, moths and other bugs, I'll need to wash her again. Sigh, totally worth it.

Ended up doing 250+ today , 25 to chiropractor than 225+ miles back home via 193- Wentworth Springs -Icehouse Rd. -50 and over Echo summit to Tahoe than 89 over Luther pass and continued thru markleville to the Carson River resort. But it was to windy to flyfish and didn't want to deal w the wind on Ebbett's Pass ,so turned around and did 89 to 88 and over Carson pass and made my way back to Pollock . Nice ride except for the wind

Oil change w/ engine filter and DCT filter..
2023 DCT.

Shortcut to DCT filter removal:
The manual wants you to remove the front under cowl that covers the exhaust cat converter.
Its quite fiddly to remove and install it.
The O2 sensor wire is attached to it, making it hard to get it unclipped and there are rubber grommets needed to line up, some you cant even see from the front.
All that is not necessary, just remove the one bolt on the under cowl, just below the DCT filter plate.
It will drop down far enough to remove the DCT filter cover and service the filter and o-ring.
Word of caution, dont overtighten the 6mm filter cover bolts, they break very easily. The o-ring seals the cover, no huge torque on bolt needed.

No need to remove it for the engine oil filter either, filter cap socket is your friend.
Enjoy.

360 miles round trip to the northwest corner of the panhandle today. Almost hit a pronghorn antelope, came over a hill and he was running down the centerline of the road. I slowed down to about 50mph, he was quickly leaving me behind at that speed. Amazing creatures.
Fastest animal on the north American continent.

Checked valves today( all ok) , Was a PIA to get radiator unclipped With 1 hand but otherwise not to bad. I'll put it back together in the morning, have to go shoot pool league in a bit so have to get cleaned up . Made a bridge that velcro's onto my wrist brace and it seems to help , won 3 out of 4 games last week

Not today, but a completed project. Bike Shield recommended the medium size, but I have a top box and Puig windshield, I should have gotten the large. I have to remove the top box to use it. So far so good (except a bout with ANTS, there were thousands on the bike after a hard rain, I guess they needed a life raft, but after wiping them away the ignition, and started it up, the vibration drove them away.) The white powder all over the cover is the diatomaceous earth as ant treatment until it raineemotorcycle shelter.jpg
