Started my bike today. Officially retired and a permanent Floridian now. 3 weeks ago I trailered my bikes to Florida. This morning I finished the trip myself. Now to work on honeydoos and do some riding until the pods get here and unloading and unpacking will start.

Round trip to work and a side trip for an errand on the way home. Tomorrow is forecasted for Thunder & Lightning ⛈ heavy rains so I’ll plan on the ole pickup.

I added 120 db of cager slaying awesomeness in the form of a Denali sound bomb. It looks nearly factory and blends in at a distance all the while lying in wait to cause the next inattentive Buick that crosses my path to experience my wrath and a spontaneous bowel evacuation!! Viva Denali!!!!

Filled up after today's ride. 186 miles on tank took 2.4 gals to refill and cost over $12.00 (would have cost $7.15 when I picked the bike up in June 2021). About to turn over 14,000 miles. This last 1,000 has cost me a lot more than the first 1,000 lol. 1 year of ownership anniversary coming up June 22.

Listed my '20 for sale.

After long periods of back and forth over the last year, I've decided to cash in my chips.
I'll be 72 this Fall, and after 55 years of riding with never having a crash or laydown, I want to go out keeping that record intact.
Glad to hear you’ve arrived at a position you are comfortable with. I hope you don’t leave this community though. You’ve helped me quite a bit directly and through your general contributions to this forum. I hope that continues. Best of luck with your next adventure!

Thank you for the kind words, mz
I still enjoy reading and shooting the shiite about the sport, so yes, I do plan to hang around.
I occasionally check in on the major Goldwing forum despite selling my F6B two years ago.
However that forum has a tougher crowd to deal with and is not nearly as well moderated IMHO (thanks in particular to 670cc)
Our forum is a more pleasant place to hang out on for me.

Got my annual insurance bill for the NC and was pleasantly surprised. I gotta fork up just (US) $46.86/year to insure it for another year. By comparison, the annual license sticker costs $41, so the insurance isn’t too bad.

I just paid 111 for the year for my insurance wtf
I pay $1025 for the year for my insurance. WTF
That does cover liability and full comprehensive including vandalism, fire, theft, loss of wages, etc

If someone uninsured is responsible for anything, we don't and can't sue., It is all no-fault insurance.
My coverage is $200 deductible, $5M liability.
I have no choice, as we have mandatory government insurance in my province for anything considered a vehicle.

Certainly, something to think about. I turned 72 last month, and having just lost an acquaintance in a MC wreck a few weeks ago, it's something I think about. Try not to, but I do. One of my best riding buds that I rode to California with in 2014 gave it up for the last time last year. (he had quit before but couldn't stay away. This time I think it's for good. He's also 72.)

I was down once..hit a left turner in 1969 on my 305 Honda Scrambler. Was knocked unconscious for awhile, broke my nose, right hand, right foot, 7 teeth Was going to quit then, but my mom convinced me I'd be sorry if I did. She was right, I have enjoyed riding all over the US, Canada, Europe. I love riding. Not sure what I would do if I gave it up.

Best of luck to you going forward bigbird. 55 years is indeed a good run.

Thanks for the kind words, Ferret.
Much appreciated.

Since our riding season is so short compared to yours, it's like I gave it up for 5 months every year over those 55 years.

If I rode and enjoyed it as much as you and had to stop, I think I would need these things (a quad, snowmobile, side X side, fishing boat, and young mistress, with wife's approval of course) to make up for it.

We pay $100 a year for my 2015 NC700X & wife’s PC150X with full coverage.
