Installed the Extenda Fendah, and ran the drive chain through my Grunge Brush a bunch of times, then ran it around a few times more for an application of Dupont Teflon Chain-Saver.

Went on a most excellent ride today (about 6 or 7 hours including lunch) with CRStep and a guy from our riding club. It started off rainy and ugly like this:

But quickly cleared up to be beautiful like this:

Close to the end of the ride CRStep and I swapped bikes and I finally got a chance to see what all the hype is about with these DCT models. I think I enjoyed the experience the most. The DCT is a fun change of pace and I was really impressed with how easy the DCT is to ride. I could focus a lot more on riding with that one less distraction.

Good Times!!

I think the other DCT riders here would agree. I got used to shifting eventually... but I missed my bike.

added top box

In 2001 i bought a Sony 27" TV, old style box.

Fast forward to 2008 and my kids are whining that we are the only family in Southwestern Ontario that don't have a flat screen TV and it's embarrassing! I told them, "I'm not throwing out a perfectly good 27" TV just to buy a 42" flat screen for some crazy $2500. I'll buy one when the 'box' dies or the price comes way down on the flat screens.

Well the 'box' never died, however in the summer of 2012 just before the summer Olympics I gave in and bought an LG 48" LED TV and a stand to put it on. I think they were $1000 and $200 respectively.

Here is my stock 2016 NC750X sitting quietly in the garage, if it could whine what a sob story it would tell... no farkles, except a 12v outlet dangling in the frunk.

Here she is looking good at 6 months old and 13,500 kms

Eventful weekend, unfortunately not for all good reasons though! Had ordered and received the Skidmarx rear hugger, but like others decided that it would look better in matte rather than the gloss it arrived in. Down to the local hardware store for sandpaper and a can of paint. Good news was that they had what I needed. Bad news was that I made the mistake of then walking up/down the rest of the aisles remembering a whole bunch of other 'little' projects around the house I needed to do but were pending parts/tools. Few hundred $ and an hour later I made a dash for the door (via the checkout of course!!) to get started. I knew that the wife would have less of an issue with me working on my bike if I knocked off some of honey-do items first. That was my next mistake!!

Started with the slow draining upstairs bathroom sink and bathtub. Poured down the 'cleaner', waited the 15 minutes and then ran the cold water, all per instructions. All seemed well initially but then the tub started filling again. Figured that maybe I'd use the rest of the bottle and rinse/repeat the cycle. This time it took even longer before the tub started to back up, but back up it did. Time for a snake I think. Heading down to the basement via the kitchen (under the bathroom) to find water dripping from my recently re-painted ceiling. Not good. :(

Decided that as I'm really an IT guy and not a handyman that I'd use the "phone a friend" option before I made a bad job worse!! A few holes in the ceiling and we found the culprit. A 90° bend at the 1/2 way point from the bathroom to the main 4" drain to the basement was also a low point and eroded! Cut a whole bunch of the copper out and replaced with plastic piping, plastic sweeping 90 and a plastic "Y" (to bathtub & sink) and I'm hoping we're now in better shape. We were also able to raise the 90 a little (holes in joists were limiting factors). Waiting 24 hours for the glue before testing, but the hope is that we're good and now just need to finish airing it out and then make a tidy 8x4 hole to hang a new sheet of rock plus some 2x4 woodwork to "improve" things. These century homes can be a little challenging at times! It seems that 90 had water sitting in it and had gradually eroded as there were lots of holes in it leading back toward the tub, getting progressively smaller. I think that they were gummed up from all of the gunk in the pipes (hair etc. - I have 3 girls and a wife all with long hair). Then when I ran the cleaner, it did it's job, but now the holes weren't clogged anymore and thus water was able to drip freely. The pipe literally fell apart when I dropped it onto my gravel driveway!! Will also be investing in a better hair trap!!

Good news and only reason I'm really posting though is that while I didn't get the Skidmarx mounted, I was able to get it painted!! Install will have to wait a few days as I've also got a Puig front fenda extenda arriving as well as handguards.

still, plenty of good riding to be had without installing a single farkle. in fact, it's a bit liberating to ride the hell out of the machine without worrying about this for awhile

I rode to the Shawnee tribe's history session at their shiny casino. In case you were wondering, they are still mad.

That reminds me, mine is hooked up but still dangling too, one of these days I'll need to decide where I want to drill the hole and mount it properly.

Left or right corner towards the handlebars. If right handed better on the left side

Rode to the hardware store to get two cutting wheels for my grinder, to experiment on building a radiator shield with an extra punched-hole bass enclosure grill. Noticed when I pulled the NC out of the shed that there was some dripping on the left side of the radiator and the lower hose area -- turned out to be water from when I washed it a couple days ago... Also filled my 5-gallon gas container for the lawn mower -- handily fit in my Hepco & Becker JUNIOR 55 top case with room to spare. It's time for LAWNMOWER MAN!!!

Have some touchups to do today. Need to do some chain maint, check air in tires, check tires, check brakes, check mounting screws for tightness, give it a wash with soap (for a change). I have a ride Saturday from Louisville to Brown County and Nashville, IN and then the Distinguished Gentleman's ride Sunday. Then, and this is really what the checks are for, I have one more week before heading to the Horizons Unlimited meetup in Stecoah, NC. So, time to get all the rest of the gear laid out so I know what I need to take to NC, since I missed getting a bunk this year, and will have to actually camp.
