I've had the same problem about 1 out of 20 times for over a year. New battery last week. No different. Always starts, but worries me if I'm away from home.
I agree. Mine will pull just fine at 1000RPM, but sounds terrible. That rattle is hammering from the crank through the transmission all the way to the back sprocket. You might save $.30 on a tank of gas.
My last ride was a 2007 Xmoto. Sold it w/ 51,000 miles. Both are good on fuel and reliable. The nc is much more stable at 75+, but slower steering around town. X moto was better at wheelies, but I'm too old for that. This is my first Honda $7075 with tax, tag, title, dealer prep, and destination...
None here. 13K miles in my first year last week. Adjusted 1 valve. Changed fluids @ 4k miles. I'm planing on a trip to the Grand Canyon from central Florida next summer. My first Honda, couldn't afford another BMW. This was not a mistake.
After 5 years of wearing a backpack on my Xmoto, I call it relief. The other day I bought 5 qts of oil, a filter and a belt. Still had space. Not as practical as my old GS, but better lookin'.
An "H"rating should be adequate. Mine will only pull about 105. (not verified by GPS) Have you checked Ebay. They aren't that tough to install at home.
I agree. The manual shows 6th gear @ 39 mph. In traffic @ 2200 rpm you've got nothing if you roll on the throttle. No engine braking either. I run 3000-3500 rpm and still get 62-68 mpg.
He is right on the Maxima chain wax. Best I've found. I got 27,000 mile on the first chain on my Xmoto. As to wheel alignment, I measure from the rear of the swingarm to the axle with calipers. Eyeball the little marks on the swingarm then measure it. You will be suprised how far it can be off.
Is it doomed? DEFINATELY! I bought one. I have a knack for buying odd vehicles. A diesel Rabbit, a Saturn Vue, a Buell, and my last bike was a BMW Xmoto. (only came to the US one year) I loved the BMW, but the backpack was getting old. I work for 12 hrs and take my Ipad, junk food and fresh...
