Are Motorcycles Really More Practical and Economical?

Ok here is the math for the original post. You've driven 165,000 miles at 30mpg. Using an average fuel cost of let's say $3.50 per gallon....you've spent: 165,000 / 30mpg = 5500 gallons x $3.50 per gallon = $19,250 Now if you had driven all of those miles on you NC at 70mpg using the same...

    Gas Gauge Mishap

Yesterday while driving to work my gas gauge was at that point where it's at 2 bars but intermittently turning to the flashing red depending upon the horizontal position of the bike. I knew when I got back on the bike to ride home that I'd be flashing red.....but no. My gas gauge was still at...

    Calling all DIY Guru's

Hey All, I'm looking for an inexpensive mod to position my soft saddlebags in a more parallel and upright position. As they are mounted currently they are in no danger of hitting the tire, chain, exhaust, etc....but I think they might look much better if positioned properly. I don't want to...

    Strange thing with fuel economy....

I have the Madstad screen and soft luggage and most of my daily 125 mile commute to work is at highway speeds (70-80 mph). I just started using fuelly but got 70mpg out of my last tankfull. Love my NC!

    In helmet speakers

I bought these Tork helmet speakers on Amazon and they sound great. You may find them cheaper but trust me the cheap one's cannot be heard over the engine and wind noise. I attached an iPod shuffle ($49) to the back of my helmet with velcro.

    Honda Air/Wind Deflectors

Has anyone installed the Honda Fairing and/or Lower Wind Deflectors and if so are they worth $89 each? I'm trying to prepare for the cool morning commutes to work that will be here soon in Michigan. Any other suggestions/alternatives to these OEM products to keep the wind off the legs and feet...

    Highway pegs ??

Has anyone tried any of the Kuryakyn mounts/pegs? These look like they might work. I have a 126-mile round-trip commute (mostly highway) to work each day. The additional pegs are bulky, ugly and expensive but they would sure make my ride more comfortable. Looking for any ideas as far as what...

    Hands Keep Falling Asleep/Tingling

I had the same issue with my first 2 fingers and my thumb going numb after about 10 minutes of continuous riding at highway speeds. I have a 120 mile daily round-trip ride to work so this was really sucking the enjoyment out of my commute. I purchased foam grips and it didn't help. Finally I...

Modification to lock on Storage Compartment needed

Thanks everyone. I think I'll use the "Knob fastened to spare key" idea and just leave it in while riding.

Modification to lock on Storage Compartment needed

I love my NC700X.....but does anyone else have an issue with having the turn the bike off in order to use the key for the storage compartment? Yeah I know I could use my spare key, but wouldn't it be nice if it used a push-lock, push-open system similar to this one? Southco 93 10 307 10 Boat...
