Ok Lets Hear it?! Complaint Department

Well I love the bike enough to buy it in the first place.

And I still love the NC700X

But! if i were to voice my opinion to make the bike my ultimate NC700X, it would be.

I have had a lot of motorcycles and I have done a lot of maintenance, it would be nice to have a bike that has Oil only at 8k as the main maintenance.

Less Maintenance Means more ride time,

1. Hydraulic Lifters
2. Something other than chain drive, or enclosed chain in oil bath with a chain tensioner, and a 8k service interval

I ride mostly ALONE.

However, when I am with a bunch of riders (here in Switzerland), I do feel a little "underpowered" especially when most riders here go for the top-capacity motos in their preferred styling.
However, I still say I am more than capable in keeping up with them. In the twisties, those heavy beasts are heavy. And after 1 day or half a day, those riders come into the coffee table, looking really tired.
:D

I'll start... My biggest complaint about the bike is the sound... yes I said it! It sounds like, for lack of a better word. A Honda fit (which the engine is Based on). It needs more grunt and I don't necessarily mean louder.
When I show people the bike they are always impressed but frown a bit when they hear it. One person even said it sounded like a loud sewing machine!

That's nothing. On take-off my '08 SilverWing sounds like an Evinrude pulling a water-skier. I love my SilverWing!

It isn't. That was a joke made by an engineer at a press conference (the bore and stroke are really similar between the NCX and Fit but that's about all) that took on a life of its own.

I already have something between my legs which symbolizes my virility. I don't go around sticking it in people's ears, so why should I go around trying to prove my manhood by sticking my big red Honda penis extender in their ears?

I'm glad the thing's so quiet and I'm beyond needing to impress either myself of a bunch of lunkheads by twisting my wrist and causing a machine I neither designed nor built to go vroom-vroom or udden-udden-udden. I only bought the thing; what it can do or what sound it makes is no personal reflection on me.

The bike sounds like a washing machine. If Honda can make the VT750 sound good with standard silencers, why couldn't they do it with the NC? The lock is cheap crappy rubbish. Seat is okay, but could do with removing the slope.

Now that's a proper complaint! And also true.

My only complaint is that I don't get to ride it as much as I like, But that will change in the last week of June, I am going to ride the Natchez Trace. Its been on my bucket list for years.

the nc is nice and quiet.I dont want the exhaust note rattling in my ears .
hence that's why I wear ear plugs.
what hearing I've got left I would like to hang onto it,I like the sound of music and not brum brum brum.;)

I like the engine noise - sounds good and is not unnecessarily loud.

Sorry that's not a complaint in the complaints section - er, I think the fuel tank should hold at least another gallon

If I had bought the 650 than I wouldn't have the NCX!!.
The big V has power and torque, but it also has fueling and clutch issues that Suzuki has known about since day 1 but won't fix. This year there offering a a new computer to fix the fueling issues on NEW 1000's.

For the complaints about the sound or noise (or lack of it), put yourself in the shoes of the manufacturer.
Is it common sense to make the Standard pipe quiet or loud?
What are aftermarket pieces good for?
It is a parallel twin, what sort of sound do you EXPECT from the standard exhaust system?

If you want screeching high-revs, then buy a 4 in line (eg: Suzuki GSXR type)
If you want V-twin, then perhaps a Harley?
If you want a thumper, many are available.

If you wanna a "wicked" sound, then put on a Slip-on.
The list goes on....

:p

I've got one huge complaint about the bike. Since I picked it up at Easter I've only put 1,000km on it. First I nearly chopped my right thumb off and couldn't even put a glove on for 10 days. Then I had to go to Brazil on business until end of April. Now I'm back, the bike's had its first service and I should be getting some runs in the mountains - except that it's decided to start snowing and the roads are a mess and the forecast is just as bad for the next 10 days

That's not the bike's fault....
