if you were going to toss out the stock pads with 75% pad left, I might be interested in them for the price of shipping, assuming they fit the two pot front caliper.
Just pm me where to mail them to and I'll take care of ya! And they came off of my 2016 with the 2 pot caliper, different part number for EBC pads to fit this bike than the 3 pot caliper pads to fit my 2013.

Thanks. Done. See private conversation.

New track tire came in. On deck for when the other one is toast. Only 2 track days on it, will at least get one more, possibly two out of that one. 4 would be a record. This is the 4th rear tire (on the bike) that I've been through, and the previous 3 (2 Dunlops and 1 Pirelli) have only lasted 3 days each. Would be nice if this one lasted 4 days, but I won't risk it if it's questionable. $200 rear tires burnt up in 3 track days sucks! About time to replace the front tire too. I do love tires though...Lol.

Nothing.

But I did sand, prime and paint the giant scratches and moderate dents that my sister-in-law put into my truck so they don't rust. Of course she denies doing the damage. All I know is they were not there when she borrowed my truck and there were fresh scratches and dents on my truck when she brought it back.

Not every day is a motorcycle day

Sell your used track day tires to commuters. You wear out the sides, they can wear out the middles!

Rode the ST1300 to work on Tuesday. Then the NC700X on Wednesday and Thursday (today). Quite a difference in feel and expectations. I feel more easy-going on the NC.

I will start running them on my other NC unless they are just really shot. Sometimes, the sides wear so bad it shoulders off and feels weird transitioning into a turn, in which case I would just throw away, but others that are worn more evenly, I will probably run on my other bike. I am going to do that with the Pirelli front tire on the track bike, as it is still in pretty good shape.

I wouldn't want anyone else running toasted track tires. They go through heat cycles and tend not to grip like they are supposed to anymore, so I wouldn't want to be liable for someone else crashing.

Finally got my new rear fender properly installed. It was just mocked up before because I couldn't find the mounting screws for it haha. I can find the right screws in black so will have to order some cause these onse look terrible.

But otherwise I'm happy. I think the paint looks good though there are a couple of little imperfections, you can't see them really. I'm glad I went with the black and painting it. It looks a lot better with the chainguard and mounting plate in black and just the fender in red.

Did some short trips for work today. This put stress on the poor old battery. I got a chance to use my portable jump starter which worked perfectly.

I had done research into batteries with plans to purchase this weekend. The adventures of today accelerated replacement to today. I think the battery was stock so I got good life out of it. A replacement Yuasa was $203. The chapest on Amazon was $54. I took the middle ground with the local battery store brand. I had a 20% off coupon from a motorcycle show and didn't have to wait for shiping. Out the door $90.

The bike fired right up. The battery was said to be charged up. Being skeptical I put it on the charger and it accepted a few hours of 2amp charging before it went into maintenance charge. I don't know if I will get 8 years out of it but I would be happy with 5.

Picked up my seat from the upholsterer with the Seat Concepts kit installed.
It sure doesn't feel like a bicycle seat any more.
No more need for the Showkey seat mod to raise the front of the stock seat.
Now fo an hour ride this evening to validate my hope.

Nice! I'm about to mount up on my seat concepts seat too and head home from work.

The aluminum swing arm looks good and the red sets off the color contrast but those huggers are next to worthless for protection or cleanliness. My 2013 came with one and I’d much rather have the stock chain cover and mod up a rubber flap to keep fling off the shock and upper part of the swing arm in front of the wheel.

Honestly, for me, it is 90% a cosmetic part. That is why I didn't buy an expensive fiberglass fender. I did the swingarm swap about 3 years ago and the bike hasnt had a chain guard that entire time. It obviously never had a rear fender and you can see in that picture there isnt very much damage or dirt on the rear shock.
I really dont think the bike needs either a fender or chain guard although for safety a chain guard is a good idea. I think the shock will need to be replaced long before it shows any real damage from normal street riding conditions.

I don't ever get water or dirt come up over the tail onto my topbox or my back so that isnt a concern for me. Ive gotten a few nicks on the fiberglass tail delete from debris kicking up maybe this will reduce that but if not it was probably going to happen anyway.

Mine is the Puig and while looking good it just gives another surface to get filthy with road grime while covering the top of the swing arm gusset immediately ahead of the wheel. Dirt and moisture collect under it and can't be cleaned off leading to corrosion of the swing arm. I am going to mod the Puig by cutting off the part that overlaps the swing arm gusset and try and salvage some of the function the Puig provides while allowing proper cleaning of the entire area. A simple rubber flap hanging down from the inner fender behind the shock prevents the tire from flinging wet road grime on top of the swing arm and against the rear shock.

Oh yeah this one doenst have that. So no dirt gets between the cover and the swingarm just the tire. It stops before the gap and dips down a little. It doesnt cover the swingarm back. I was actually thinking of trying to mod it with a small extender a few inches down below the swingarm for a little more coverage.

Replaced the tail/brake light with a flashing LED bulb. During the task I resolved to run-over the engineer (I use the term loosely) who designed the tail light assembly on the 2012 700X.
One must remove the entire tail light assembly to merely change the bulb!? And being a contortionist to reach the off-angle screws between the rear tire and rear-end is helpful. Of course if you have pannier racks then they require partial disassembly to get to the screws. All this just to change a freakin' light bulb! Are you kidding me? Probably the worst design I have ever encountered on motorcycle or car for such a simple (and common) task. Whoever dreamed it up has never replaced a bulb in their life. Anyway - I am very pleased with the strobe/flasher effect for the brakes. I usually install this function on a motorcycle as soon as I can.

New Avon TrailRider tires. Great for asphalt and occasional dirt roads.

Installed a Feniex T3 strobe light under the stock taillight where the reflector was. Required removal and replacement of the taillight to tap into the brake light power and ground wires. I already had a modulator wired in to pulse the stock brake light. I’ll add additional reflective red tape to make up for the reflector.
