2016: What did you do to/with your NC700 today?

Today might be the day to give the NC a rest and go do some WR dualsporting up on the Flathead Reservation. Kinda smoky from some fires in the region, so I'll just post a pic from last year: Flickr

Well, my friend couldn't go after all, but I was having dualsport withdrawals and went out solo -- really got a lot of that full-body workout you just don't get on pavement -- might even be a little sore tomorrow!

I finally got sick and tired of my bent exhaust pipe and after a brief visit to a friendly biker shop, got myself an IXIL Dual Hyperflow.
Boy, this thing roars (but not to a point where all my neighbors hate me :D)

Enough said, I love the new sound and despite a moment of doubt if it's not too loud, I was certain it wasn't the moment a "real bike" cruiser overtook me - his bike was so loud I couldn't even hear my louder-than-stock pipe.
All things considered - happy with purchase :D

I've been riding off pavement on my WR250R lately, but for my NC700X I ordered

from Moto Machines:

Ermax Touring Screen Windshield +15cm in gray
Pyramid Plastics Fenda Extenda
Hepco & Becker Rear Alurack
Hepco & Becker Junior 55 Top Case in black

from Revzilla:

bike-specific Barkbusters Storm Handguards

So after 5500 miles of summer joy, the farkling has begun!

I put one of those on my my CBR and LOVED it. Take the baffles out, your neighbors will love you for it.

Ordered some of the new Givi Dolomite 36L panniers and found out that they didn't fit with the PLX1111 racks that I had. Changed out the PLX1111 racks for the PL1111CAM racks and found out that the Dolomitis still didn't work even with the "compatible" mounting kit that came with the panniers. Now I have to wait till the Outback Trekkers get here.

cleaned my forks, looked further at my punched-hole speaker grills and other supplies i might build a stand-off radiator guard out of, considered a bar-type highway peg assembly that could attach to a NC700X skidplate, reconsidered tires more suitable for FS and gravel road use.

the zip tie on one of my tool tubes broke, I replaced one thick one with a bunch of thin ones. The tube on the right side just wants to be an ***, haven't had a problem with the one on the left.

did a short ride last tuesday about 86 miles in all .
stop by a cafe had a drink and a home made cake.
we only had a couple of hours spare as need to get home before tea.

I put Barkbuster Storms on, dumping the craptastic Honda handlebar inserts their bar weights screwed into. Figured I'd want it right later, but was not fun to get those POS things out : \

I rode up to hideout Harley in Joplin and rode with them over to Jolly Mill east of Neosho. About 120 miles.
This was a fundraiser for Life of Hope ministries.

The Jolly Mill park is very nice.

This was my first group ride. Rider discipline was good until we got close to the park. I thought I was the only non Harley but I did see one Yamaha.

One lady there had a brand new trike with the new Milwaukee 8 engine. She was very positive about the engine, suspension and heat.

Having replaced my handlebars I have found the internal weights are easy to get off if you have the grips removed. Basically there are some spring clips that dig into holes in he handlebars. If you push the clip in you can slid the internal weight out. If you pull hard enough you can break the clips and it will come out. Service manual shows this if you dig down to the inner weight replacement.
