I am feeling like a rookie here after Lootz bailed me out so quickly but thought I would finish this thread off with a final thought. I always switch the bike to N before shutting it off and so, have never had the 'stuck in gear' problem that sometimes strikes DCT users.
Well, I am going to write this one off to colder weather and heavy winter gloves. I noticed yesterday that I have much less dexterity with my heated winter gloves and, even though I tried to switch to N, I did not actually hit the switch hard enough to make the change. So Lootz was most likely correct when he noted that I did not get the bike to neutral prior to shutting it off.
