Great project. A very productive way to spend some time away from riding. I'm sure you will enjoy it for many years to come.

Careful... a lot of us "yanks" don't know the expression "bus man's holiday".
I do... Mrs. StratTuner was an English teacher for 33 years, and together we've been to England more than 5 times!

Good job! My uncle(s) were "bricksmiths" The closest I got the helping was carrying the bricks to them. It's a hard living, but once the job is done, it's there "forever".

Looks really nice. What is a bus mans holiday?

Thanks for the compliments guys.

@ it lives, A bus mans holiday is taking time off work but doing the same thing as work, I guess it comes from bus drivers taking coach holidays in the 50's & 60's before cheap air travel.

Also, you're right about brick work being around for a long long time, I've left my mark all over the place, as far north as Newcastle (my brother lives there (I live down south in Kent)) and Germany in the 90's.

Hey here's a little secret, I've not always been a brickie, I stared at the age of 20 but at 33 I joined the Police Force!

Left after 3 1/2 years, in a sentence you are underpaid, undervalued, overworked and overstressed so I resigned and went back to bricklaying.

Now let me see if I understand this concept. Honey do's or go riding. Or was that go riding or honey do's. Really a good looking fire place you built. As for me, something I've been meaning to do. See you later, gone RIDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No we did not - I predict he will be suckled back to health by a magical dire wolf and return to Westeros and kill a dragon.

I got a feeling that Samwell (fat dude in the Nights Watch) has great things lined up for him. Maybe even become King.

Oh yeah, and I'd like to have an hour in a hotel room with that red witch of fire chick. Hubba Hubba.

But....you can't lay bricks in a great uniform!
Oh well, it's a trade off - respect, satisfaction, pays well -vs- the other.... GOOD CHOICE!
Another thing, your uniform is not completet. Where's your GUN! ....I know....so sad

Gun! We have specialised armed units in the UK, bunch of lazy prima doña wasters usually though.

That pic is in our No1s, ceremonial type of kit.

At work on patrol I was armed with a 'stick' and a can of CS.

I've seen a stick do some serious damage. I was training in Germany and we took some R&R in Nurnberg. An area called "The Wall". There area couple small bars down there and a couple guys got a little carried away so the Polizei were called. They whipped the crap out of a couple guys with those spring loaded batons.
