new from Monterey county/ center stand question

Hello,

I am new to this forum and to my nc700x. This last weekend I gave it the 600 mile oil/filter change and installed my center stand. So far the bikes has been great! took it for the skyline ride.
Quick question. I installed the center stand following the instructions. when i return the center stand up to ride the bike. The stand feels loose and dangles, occasionally scraping the ground. is that normal? or should it feel like it detents in when in either position? any advice on how to get more tension in the home position?
