Hoping someone with an older DCT model can respond to this.....
I have a 2013 DCT, which I've owned for over a year. Since day one I've always kept the bike in "S" mode which seems to keep the proper gear and provide more power when needed. Today I decide to play with the "D" mode and see how it's working. In "D" mode it seems that the bike is always under-powered from being in the wrong gear. For example cruising at 40mph the transmission wants to stay is the 6th gear, which is crazy! At 40mph the bike should be in 4th or possibly 5th gear if on a hill climb. Anyway I'm very curious to know if my DCT ( in the "D" mode) has a problem or if what I've described is normal behavior.
Thanks to anyone who has some insight on this!
