Did a 168 mile test drive today on the Blk NC700X DCT w the Penske footshifter etc and the new skid plate and something scraped in one left hand turn ,not sure if it was the skid plate or the side stand. Only got 54 mpg , but had a blast . Did 50-ice house rd- Wentworth Springs and 3 laps to stumpy and back to Icehouse ,( was showing MT when I got back to Icehouse after third lap, but.made it the 40 or so miles back to Pollock and it.only took 3.2 gals.
Got to put some more plastic weld on the outside of my boots again

Guess I charge harder on left hand corners based on my toes and condition of tires. Looks like only about another ride and I'll be changing my tires again , think the rears got about 2200 miles on it and fronts got about 1000. Also looks like side stand is what dragged , could jack up the rear w the soupy risers but that put even more wear on the front tire ?? ( Already changed the front at around 1100 miles) and was hoping to go 2 fronts to 1 rear . Also not sure if the make on the hwy pegs they were on the red nc700x DCT but wouldn't fit with the gaza touring crash bars ,so I moved them to the Blk bike

That’s interesting, I go through 2 rear for every one front. I dang sure don’t ride as hard as you either! Most of the roads I ride are as straight as an arrow, so my rear tire wears flat in the center first.

Yep either have to slow down in the corners or keep changing tires and putting plastic weld on my boots , odds are it's the later ,all I ride are twisty technical uncrowded roads , straight roads I'll take the car

I wish there were roads like that here! I will drive for a long time to hit a few curves, most of which can be done at the speed limit. No technical roads within a 4 hour ride of me that I know of.
Yep I live in the Sierra Foothills and am surrounded by awesome technical motorcycle roads , I can be @ 8000' in less than 30 mins or down to Coloma on hwy 49 in about the same time or Tahoe in about 45mins , Also have Carson ,Monitor ,Echo , Luther Ebbetts and Sonora Passes all within a few hrs ride

Day 196... a trip to visit my daughter, then to visit the homes that my maternal grandparents owned, and the one we lived in until my daughter was 4 and my son 6 months. Daughter is now 48 and son 44 lol. Hard to believe we lived there so long ago. Wonder how many people have lived there since. 67 miles@ 82 degrees and cloudy.

Did another 130 mile loop apple hill -placerville-193 to Georgetown and Wentworth Springs to icehouse and went flyfishing on big silver below Bassi falls w my brother on his GS 1200 BMW today. Than pulled wheels to drop off at shop tomorrow to get new tires installed. Might have the shop spoon on some 170/60zr17 Duop Roadsmarts from 2020 that I had stored inside
( used them on my ZRX 1100 and my VFR) and see if I like them ,should be a little taller and slightly steaper profile on a 4.5" vs 5.0" rim. If I don't like how it feels ,I have a new 160 ,I can spoon on. Might raise the back slightly but make the bike fall in quicker but also put more wear on the front and only getting 1000-1200 miles out of the front now and 2200 out of the rear

Spent the evening replacing front and rear tires along with a new chain and both front and rear sprockets.
Trying a less aggressive tread pattern this time around.

Lookin good! Those look more aggressive than I thought they would based on the other pictures I have seen. Let us know what you think.

Looks great and love seeing you marked each nut you tightened to be able to see @ a glance if anything loosened. What size rear did you put on the 150or the 170 , I just installed a 170/60 ZR17 Dunlop Roadsmart this evening and like it so far, I'll finish scuffing it and the front in tomorrow. Also changed sprockets and chain a few hundred miles ago and installed a skidplate this week

I went with the 150. The skid plate you installed looks great!
