I have a different opinion on this. Honda has a reputation in the community for bland vanilla characterless engines. As a New Concept design I think it was important to design in some character in order to bring attention to the different approach this project took on the way to fruition. Honda's engineering talent could have built a parallel twin so smooth it could have passed for an electric motor but the critics would have heaped derision on a smooth as glass underpowered engine as another bland Honda. Just my 2 cents.I wish that Honda would have realized how silly their original idea of making a deliberately vibrate-y engine in order to "suite mature tastes" was and just went with the dual balancers from the git-go.
I mean seriously... did they just finish reading a romance novel or something?

Meh
Sent using modern dance.
I wish they had. My NC is very smooth from 65 to 80 mph when riding with a steady throttle. But acceleration creates a vibration that does not exude quality to me. It is a very fine bike, but I find the rough engine to be my only disappointment.Honda's engineering talent could have built a parallel twin so smooth it could have passed for an electric motor
The other side of the pond is like Pluto, we know it's there but no one really cares. j/k

It's offical! It's still a 700cc with a few more gadgets. Gear indicator, fuel info such as mpg. Thats it! A CTX1300 & DLX model version. WooHoo!

Haven't noticed a lot of support for your statement from people on this side of the pond, so you might want to change the "we" to "I". (Honestly -- no offense intended, but I really don't appreciate being lumped into that group.)
This is all relative to each motorcyclist. I traded in my BMW g650gs thumper for the nc700. The g650gs thumper, by comparison to other thumpers is smooth for a 650 thumper; however, compared to the NC700, the 650gs thumper was a paint can shaker.I wish they had. There is no guarantee the 750 will come to the USA or that the 700 will continue to be sold after 2014.
