2014 NC700X - Not 750

I would maybe preface this thread with: "Except In the US"

I don't know if I want Honda Canada to bring in the 750 either, though lol.

I'm leaning towards being envious of the damned 750's now, when I swore I was going to heap disdain on a: "change for the sake of change, but really no change" thing. A token 30 or 40cc difference at most, I thought if done, would have meant nothing to me. But bumping it up by at least 70cc, oodles more torque, better economy, and another balancer?

***IF everything is truly confirmed***

I honestly didn't think they would muck about with the engine so much, or even diddle the instrument gauge etc.

Hmmph. :/

Yes, and the GL 2000 Goldwing will be out this year!?! Got to just love those internet rumors! The big show in Italy, still is the announcement spot, and the new's are on the companies websites before any dealership ever knows. So, what's new for 2015?

They should sell plastics in different color.would be easy to swap out.and faster then plastic dip.oh well ride what i got still happy with it

sent from a keyboard in the frunk

Here's a question. Can a US citizen buy a motorbike in Canada and then bring it into the US to title it?

Absolutely yes, and vice versa, *BUT* it always depends on who does it, and how it's done. You have to know exactly what forms get your hands on, who on both sides of the border in the red tape Government bureaucracy web to deal with, all the "devil is in the details" things done properly etc.

There are folks who have done it, (perfectly legitimate and legal of course) and said it was pretty easy, and then there are those who had a nightmare because the government drones involved decided to be pricks/whatever, or simply didn't know how it worked, and refused to help.

Since the US has different emissions laws than Canada, and in fact some different ones per State I think, *where* you register or want to bring the bike can present the biggest difficulty.

Just found this. Basically it sounds like they have to have a label that specifically states they are in compliance with US EPA requirements.

Canadian vehicles are certified to Canadian requirements and originally manufactured for sale in Canada, regardless of the country in which they were produced. While many are manufactured to be identical to U.S. certified vehicles with respect to emission requirements they may be manufactured with or without a U.S. emissions compliance label identifying them as conforming to U.S. EPA requirements.

NOT easily .........With a huge hassle factor..........when you see what the Canada folks have to pay you will forget the import plan:p

...and another balancer?...

I wish that Honda would have realized how silly their original idea of making a deliberately vibrate-y engine in order to "suite mature tastes" was and just went with the dual balancers from the git-go.

I mean seriously... did they just finish reading a romance novel or something?

In order to achieve the emotional comfort of a slightly rough throb and satisfy the development concept of a "ride to suit mature tastes," the team made a deliberate decision keep the vibration and go with the uniaxial primary balancer instead of its vibration-eliminating biaxial cousin.

After all the internet rumor and supposed leaked info, NC700X remained a 700. Perhaps it's too early or too expensive for a mid-cycle update like this? Also noticed that the price for 2014 is still TBD on the Honda website. I wonder how much is Honda charge for those extra stuff.

I swear I just about dislocated the muscles that control "eye rolling" when I first read that, lol

I love the black. If only it were available when I bought mine. Maybe it's a "grass is greener" kind of thing.
Disassembling the plastic, and taking it to a quality painter is a lot less expensive than buying another bike in the color of the day! Plus the savings on taxes. I'm still working on painting mine YELLOW!

So, on tangential note, I was browsing Honda's US Powersports website reading about the new NCX, when I found my way to the page of the CBR500R. The first paragraph reads:

The initials CBR are known on racetracks the world over. So you can be sure that any Honda that carries them has truly earned them. The CBR500R is no exception. Equipped with bodywork inspired by CBR600RR and CBR1000RR, it tells the world you’re riding a sportbike from the winningest company in the world.

The winningest company in the world? I realize that they're trying to appeal to a younger generation, and that the younger generation uses all sorts of new vocabulary terms, but it sounds like they're marketing to a second-grader. Who comes up with this stuff?

They always say you should speak at your audiences at their level regardless of how educated your are. I don't know what that's saying about who they are targeting.

Yes, it is your money so you can spend it like you want. However, the Big kicker is that the warranty is good only in the county of the original dealer the unit was assigned to. So, a USA dealer can get you a Canada unit, but you have no warranty. All of the companies do this! Also, the dealers would not do this, as they are licensed as a dealer only in their home state.
