What do you do for a living?

Lead power plant operator. Currently at a 4 by one. 4 LM6000's (gas turbines) and 1 MHI steamer (steam turbine). Previously at 2 biomass's, 1 pet coke, and 4 peaker plants.

I work for Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Locomotive Engineer. I picked up my NC700x a few weeks ago...No complaints....I love this forum!! Nice people with great advice. Its great to be part of a friendly, helpful ( international Group) of folks who love their NC700s!!

I service, calibrate, install, and maintain medical diagnostic imaging devices in hospitals. So, when ER doctor Jay Fridays orders an x-ray, MRI or CT scan for you, you will thank me for having worked diligently so that you can have the best quality exam, right away when you need it.

I've had the same challenging, but fairly enjoyable job for almost 35 years. Retirement, and long, frequent motorcycle rides are just a few short years away!

I'm a truck driver............ Oh Boy

A view from my Office window...

I too am a truck driver. I haul roofing materials from our distribution company to the job sites. Nothing like driving a tractor trailer into high end neighborhoods and watching the corvettes and bmw's freak out...LOL

I am a truck driver, but you must all promise never to mention it where my mother might hear of it. She thinks I have a respectable job as mop jockey at an adult video store.

When I was in ninth grade my teacher decided to play career counselor and asked me what I wanted to be. I told her I wanted to be an engineer. She then said I should take Algebra, Calculus, Physics, Trigonometry, etc etc etc,...

And all the time my fifteen year old eyes were bugging out as I thought to myself, "All that just to drive a train?!?!"

I was too embarrassed to correct the error.

I'm in grocery, management at Trader Joe's... I oversee the alcohol department. Which means that I spend my evenings in shorts and a hawaiian shirt, selling wine to beautiful young women :p and mostly pleasant folk. By trade I'm a chef; french, japanese, mexican, california fusion and good ol' country american.

I am a City Carrier Assistant, another term for probational letter carrier, for the United States Postal Service. By July, I should know if an old dog has learned enough new tricks to have a career at it. Formerly, a television news photographer for 30 years. Now, they just have the reporters turn their iPhone around to do stand ups and cover the unwatchable news. They went High Definition and the number of still images being used multiplied exponentially. It just blows.....period. As a letter carrier, I have lost 20 pounds and I am outside all day, everyday. My wife is a nurse too. Seems to be a common spouse career here.

Fastrak systems technician on 7 Bay Area bridges.
Hopefully 5 to 7 years to go before retirement.

Used to be a network tech for Amd for 20 years.

IT administrator for 15 years now, government sector. Servers and some user support, but for now the colleuges do the job very well, I only have to oversee their work and controll the process. Little bit enclosed feeling, all day in an office and dozens of problems. But without them I would be unemployed - so it is quite good! And my boss is a very good guy, coffee and fun all the time, worktime is mostly flexible.

No hope at all about retirement ( still has ~30 years till then /age 65/) , but I decided to live like that, as I was retired now :)
Skip a day if my head is full and take a ride. We don't live forever, no time to waste :D

semi retired welder fabricator.had been a w/fab for almost 40 years.
decided enough is enough and took my redundance money.
looked after my sisters husband for two years as a carer till he died last year from alzheimer's disease.
wondering what I should rather than rely on the government hand out.
so I decided to make my hobbie into income full time.
been making grab rails etc on and off during winter months to keep me occupied at week ends when I'm off work for about 9 years.
I never worked on tubing so I'm self taught.
it all started off when I restored an old Suzuki T500. I copied and made a grab rail.
other members ask me to make them a rail and that how I started off.
my 1st year at this was a success.
here we are allowed to earn £9700 but any thing over that is taxed and I've just paid the tax man £1000!
3 more years to go and I will get all my pensions.
I doubt that I'll retire completely , I get bored if I don't do any thing.
and gardening isn't my idea of leasure time ;)
