SHAD Comfort Seat

just visited the SHAD USA order page: Honda NC700 seat and noticed that they increased the "our price" to $399 and then put it on sale for $379

on top of the $379, the first 25 orders get 10% off (with no mention of "having" to provide feedback or pictures in case that was a problem for anyone)

they told me earlier that they would be tweaking the page and will likely get the correct pictures up soon (currently they are showing the red seams/red graphics but list the part number of the grey seams/grey graphics)

you have to remember, until I contacted them a few days ago, the NC700X/S seat wasn't offered on the USA site... they still need to iron out some kinks on the page

if I had to guess, that first shipment of 25 they get in will be the grey/grey shown on this site: Seats - Shad - Freedom to move

Ordered one - $368.61 including normal shipping. I could do without the graphics but it's not a deal breaker for me. Should be good quality and durable - we'll have to wait & see about comfort though! It's gotta be much better than the stock butt-buster!

I did a little googling for reviews of Shad seats and as pretty much everything I found was positive I decided to go for it. Yeah the part number on my confirmation email is for the non-red version on the right:



That color suits me fine. $362.36 total shipped FedEx Home to Houston, TX.

Just to think that Mother Honda could design and build the DCT, but not the seat..... Sheeeeeeeeeesh..... How much more would it take ...???? Amazing!

if you dig into the SHAD.es website, it states:

"NADSL, the seat manufacturer for brands such as BMW, Honda, Suzuki, Triumph or Yamaha launches a PREMIUM range of comfort seats, based on our current technologies".

I would venture to say they do make the stock seat and it would take a couple hundred bucks to upgrade the basic seat

Has anyone that has ordered one been given a projected delivery date? I'm curious about this seat, even though I don't really have an issue with the stocker as far as overall comfort. I wonder what improvements have been made since I can't make sense of this line:

I believe they are refering to the 10% increase in surface area.. see post #7 for construction detail of a similar seat.

I have not received a projected delivery date yet aside from the 15 days to get the first shipment in.

I wonder what that means ( the 10% increase)?? I already can't flatfoot with the stock seat. If it's wider, than that would make it worse. I was hoping for a slightly lower seat!

went to the SHAD.es site and noticed they now have a PDF of the seat installation and some good pictures of the underside of the seat.

Looks like an easy switch over.So far the seat looks well made,but I guess the real test will come when the seat arrives and is installed.

They are charging me sales tax, so I have to assume the US distributor is Florida based, probably Miami.

No delivery date mentioned, so I assume it's going to be a while before they actually ship. As for "an increment of the contact surface", I read that to mean more padding than the OEM seat.

I think it was "http://www.shadonline.com/" for my order. I swear shadusa.com wasn't resolving a few minutes ago, BUT just tried it again and it worked. In any case, sorry they burned you on the tax thing. That happens to me a lot here in Texas.

I contacted them and they said the seats should arrive May 11-13 and will ship the same day.

They are just your typical small single-office importer. They also run a Scooter Business from the same address (probably how they got into Shad, buying trunks for the scooters). Shad USA Co. Logo doesn't bug me at all. I ordered one and applied the discount code for a total of $341.10. I'll post up a review when I get some time on it which wont take long as I have a 72 mile commute, lol.
