I'm back home after a 14 days of adventure and my head full of souvenirs ! I'll share a couple of stories and pics with you.

On day one my flight from Quebec city-NY-Las Vegas was first delayed one hour later...and then another delay made the connection in JFK New York impossible. My wife came back at Quebec airport to take me home and I took the first flight on 5th OCT at 6.30 am. I finally did it to Las Vegas but not without problem and other delays...
Anyway, the logistic was not at its best in Vegas neither...many members of the groups I was riding with were already in Vegas but there was no staff at the warehouse to unload the bikes from the truck...worst, 2 of the bike where broken (but still rideable) as the 2 others on top decided to sit on them during the Quebec to nevada truck ride ! Finally I took possession of my NC at the end of the day, prepared everything and get resady to ride soon the next morning.

There we go!

Later this day in the the Majave desert in california our leader had a fall with his v-strom:

the result:

later, the guy in front of me went into a large sand trap a little too fast and goes over the handles completely tearing the front of his Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200. The ignition of the bike is completely defeated and the fairing holds by the wire... No possible temporary repair ! It's getting late, the sun starts to go down and none of us wants to sleep in the desert with the coyotes ...The rest of the group continued its wayto the campground and 4 of us stay in the desert to find a solution ... we soon realized that no one will come to help tonight so we decided to tow the Tiger ... because I was behind him and the others were out of the sand trap, so I play tug with the NC for 2 km and then a big 1200 GS takes over about 40 km to Highway 66...We'll sleep a truck stop this evening ! The driver of the Tiger is not injured or very little but his PRIDE and confidence took a hit!

Our camp at dawn ... at Najah's desert oasis on Route 66.

The next morning we get up very early (we did not sleep anyway because of a train passing every 10 minutes) We finally joined the insurer and early afternoon we had a OK for a towing at the warehouse in Las Vegas (1200$ US) and a rental credit (1500$ CA) for another bike for the next 10 days ... while waiting for the tow, it attracts everyone's attention. A group of Harley arrives and the guide (she speaks French like us as well) who works for Eagle Rider organizes everything by phone so we can rent a BMW 1200GS to replace the Triumph ... WoW BIG thank to the staff of Eagle Rider and staff at Najah's desert oasis. We to go back in Las Vegas ...The 2 other guys continues their way to joint the groups and me and the driver of the wounded tiger will join later Wednesday 8th OCT.

Great photos and video!!! Looks like you had an eventful and fun trip. Man I had the time of my life (but don't tell my wife)

What back tire were you running? Continental TKC-80

How was it in the deep sand? Rear was just right for me but front made me dancing in the sand

I'm back home since 4 days now and ready to get back there tomorrow

I took my bike home yesterday... a 170km highway ride
Damages from the 2 weeks ride are minimals:
-Fenda Extenda broken by a large rock
-the Hepko Becker engine guard is glued to the catalyst and on the right side of the engine
-a tool tube snatched (too heavy given the fasteners)
-the front tire is really unbalanced
-the rear tire is dying
-some scratches appeared
But the NC still run strong and guys I like this bike much more than the first day now ! ;)
