Another update: I decided to forgo the snob factor of Ohlins and I called Cogent back and asked them to add a shock to my order. I figured it makes a lot more sense to have the same guy putting my front suspension together set up the rear too. In the end the Cogent and Ohlins shocks are in the same ball park price wise, have the same features and I would bet probably the same level of performance. Add to that the fact that Cogent welcomes customers to call for technical questions/advice and you can actually talk to the person who put together your set-up. Buying an Ohlins shock from a third-party vendor would likely not allow me such luxuries. But, most importantly I'm supporting a small independent U.S. business who brings support to our community.
