Here is the contact site for an owner to pre-register their Honda NC700X at Sargent Seats so that Sargent can judge the interest in researching and producing a "NEW" Sargent Seat for our bike. The more owners/riders that sign up (showing interest) the quicker the seat will be available for sale. There is no obligation to make a purchase just because you are pre-registering. This will provide another choice for people with a hard to fit butt!
If you are interested, click on the web address below and complete the form.:cool

Done...thanks for the link.
I'm currently using a Sargent seat on my NC. They did a good job with widening and dishing out the cheek area, but didn't address the slope issue. Maybe they will come up with a new and improved product design!

Sure wish Sargent was quicker to market with a seat for the NC. I've had Corbin's and Sargent's in the past and prefer the Sargent. However Corbin got my money for the NC because Sargent is dragging their feet

Done.

Evidently, the forum does not like posts with <10 letters, so you get this here description of why I've added this description. Also, as a freebie of the mildly interesting variety, I'm including some interesting reading on the common random wording that you might find around the internet. Enjoy!

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"
Section 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum", written by Cicero in 45 BC

1914 translation by H. Rackham

"On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains."

That's a lot better than the simple "Done." that I was going to post. Hah! I even tricked you into learning something! ;)

Cagedodger,
You had better check the gas cap on your bike. It appears the fumes are affecting your thinking! Some fresh air will probably allow you to communicate more rationally. Good luck!

WtF?!?! ...lol I got to the second word in lattin( or whatever the heck it was) and fell asleep...

Um.... I did the Seat Registration thingy too....lol

+1... a number of us contacted Sargent months ago, last fall/winter, but they didn't show much interest.... they had a captive audience, I think a lot (more) of us would have gone for one had they jumped at the opportunity.

I'm interested, I'll sign up. If the reviews are incredible, I'll try and sell my Seat Concepts and try one. Loved the Sargent on my Bandit.

I wonder what they consider to be their break even number when selling seats? Like stated above, they could've sold a few seats IF they'd been ahead of the curve. We all lose!
Mike

I imagine the break even number would depend on what it takes to make molds for the seat pans. Sargent has done a few NC700 seats, but those were custom orders where they rebuilt the stock seat. In my case I took them the seats and they built up the front and did a matching cover and a minor foam modification to the rear. I rode the bike up a few days later and they did a few tweaks to the front and rear seats which gave them a chance to see the seats on the bike. Their engineer didn't seem to feel the front seat would be too complicated to produce, but they said the rear seat would be a different story. This was back in November and it was the first NC seat they worked on, so they may have a different point of view now.

I work near and like the guys at Sargent but I am going to have to agree with you on this one. I am disappointed on how long Sargent has been sitting on (no pun intended) making a seat for this bike. I know it has to be cost effective to make a seat so they want to be sure there is a demand but if it was me once I saw everyone else is making one I would have picked up the pace instead of letting Corbin and others take all the sales.

I wasn't even thinking about the rear seat but it makes sense that they might balk at that due to the latch mechanism. I guess if I want one bad enough I will send/ride my seat to them.

In my quest to find a replacement seat, I emailed the guys at Sargent and have yet to receive an email back. So, I went with a seat concepts one. I submitted my info anyway to help out.

yea, Sergeant probably got burned on the NT700 (which they list as having available)-the one year wonder (NOT!!). The NC700 is now in its 2nd year and dealers are selling them.

I signed up, but am disappointed in Sargent on their slow response to the NC700X.

I have one of their seats on my R1200RT and really like it....I guess I'll have to go with something else on the NC700...I'm ready for a new seat now!

Rob Ray

Their email responses are none to slow!

When I first contacted Sargent seats regarding the NC700X I didn't get a response either.
So I contacted them again and was told by Bob that my first email inquiry had gone to the "trash" computer file. So then I was given the information for the "Pre-registering" site. I encourage everybody, even if you are happy with your current seat, to fill out the pre-registering form to help your fellow NC700X riders.
I hope Sargent is responsive with our wishes for a new seat supplier!

I love mustang seats, so I asked them about making one for the NCX

"Sorry Mustang has no plans to make a seat for this model."
