I went back out to Seat Concepts yesterday and took possession of the first seat for an NC700X. Overall, it sits well and I am happy with it for me. It does add a bit to the measurement from seat to ground. The first seat was a bit to firm, in my opinion, so they mixed a new batch of foam and re did the seat. They actually did this a couple of times while I waited. I do not feel myself sliding forward toward the frunk any more and think they are about right on with the seat. I took my bike by my Honda dealer and had several people sit and/or ride my bike. They all said the seat is a definite improvement over the stock. The closest thing to criticism was one big buy who thought the center of the seat could be dished out a bit, but he still liked it.

I watched Robert install the new seat on my seat pan. All in all, it doesn't look like an impossible challenge for a novice. They make the cover so you will just about be forced to get it on correctly. You will need a can of spray contact cement and a can of silicon lubricant. Contact cement to locate the new foam on the pan while installing the seat cover and silicon to make the cover slide easier on the foam during installation. I didn't see them, but think their directions will be adequate for the job.

Lenden said they should be up and running with the seat by the 18th. They are having the seat covers sewn and made ready for taking orders.

I hope I was able to convey to Lenden and Robert the wants an concerns I saw posted on the forum. Good luck boys and girls, I did the best I could.

Craig

I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow.

Hey Craig,

Thanks for your time and input ..... look forward to the pictures ...

Hey, Craig!
Thank you so much for all the effort you have put into this!!!

Here are a few photos of my new Seat Concepts seat for the NC700X. I think the difference in color between the new seat and the original rear seat are a bit exaggerated by the flash. I did talk to Lenden about a matching cover for the rear seat. He said he may look into that if the demand is there.

So -- for better or worse here they are.

Nice!!! Also, nice Norton in the background!!!! :)

I can't tell for sure from the picture, but that cover material looks like it may be the same color carbon weave that Sargent used on my seat. If so, and if you can get Seat Concepts to offer a matching cover for the rear seat, you'll end up with a seat color matched to the black panels on the bike. IMHO it looks much better than the stock black cover.

All of you people who are waiting on the sidelines to make a decision about purchasing a new seat should know that the Group Buy Price for the Seat Concept seat is now 20%, $32.00, off the regular price and also includes Free Shipping. But you must place an order before next Saturday, May 18th.
Or you can wait and see how the members of the Group Purchase buy-in like the product before you place an order, BUT then you will pay the full regular price plus shipping!
Good luck with your choice!

I might be interested in a second group purchase if the first adaptors report positive reviews. Since you already have the number required, why not wait?

Why not wait???????????????

Because it is most likely they will not offer a $32 discount with free shipping again.............?

Ever hear of an "INTRODUCTORY OFFER"?

As showkey stated there will not be another introductory offer. They only offer a special price offer to get your attention. "One and Done!" Just like the other offer for the SHAD seat set from Spain. That offer changed quickly!
It's hard for vendor to make a profit giving away his products.

I've definitely heard of introductory offers. This is not low enough to be tempting to try an untested product. They could find out that it needs improvement and make a running change that makes subsequent ones superior. I'd rather buy a closeout of a superior product, or wait for a mid production run sale. Or even full price after I hear that it is worth the money.

It certainly could be the greatest thing since sliced cheese, and at a world beating price. Do let us know if that is the case. I'll have to miss out for now.

FWIW, I haven't been able to go on any really long treks with the new seat as yet. I have done a couple short ones of 75-100 miles and am very happy with the new seat so far. It seem as if it is settling in a bit the more I ride it.

It works for me - hope it works for you as well.

Well the time is running out on the group purchase special pricing on the Seat Concept deal. All of you folks waiting on the side lines can choose to go or no-go with the group. There is no tomorrow! It's 3, 2, 1, and DONE!
Today, Saturday May 18th, is the end of the time limit.
Please do not have regrets!
Good luck!
