I have been looking into the FJ09 and for the money seems like more bike for the money and much lighter than VFR. 115HP is appealing and comes well equipped stock.

I studied and rode the FJ and wouldn't consider it in a comparision with a long distance tourer with light off-road abilities. I'm not saying it isn't a nice bike.
