Givi Engine Guards sale $180 shipped

Ok, I just realized the picture I took from their website is NOT showing the givi engine guards on an NCX... lol It's the one they are using... why? I don't know

I believe this is the type Beemerphile has
Too bad he's taking a break from this forum as it would be nice to an idea of how difficult to install they are on the NCX. The reviewers on the Motorcycle Superstore web site awarded fewer stars because of installation difficulties on their particular bike.

If I remember correctly he recommended using longer bolts at one or two of the mount points. He gave the specs of the bolts as well.

That's the ones I have, took 30 minutes to install on both sides. I now have highway pegs bolted to the Givi bars that do not show on this "old" picture.

Ok, here you go...

Frank why are your rims red?

Because I installed wheel strips. See here for pictures: http://nc700-forum.com/forum/nc700-mods/1190-repaint-silver-plastics-matte-black-12.html#post33615

And how in the heck you get your legs up that high to mount pegs?

The pegs are installed on the lower part of the Givi guard. Right here:

And this is what it looks like when I use them. NO I don't ride with socks only.. ;)

And what are those black boxes lights? Ok I'm on a roll.

Custom made LEDs driving lights. Some pictures here: http://nc700-forum.com/forum/nc700-mods/1190-repaint-silver-plastics-matte-black-11.html#post32189 and here: http://nc700-forum.com/forum/nc700-general-discussion/2283-givi-v35-luggage-2.html#post30418

Frank, do you have a link for the pegs you have?

No, because I made them myself.. I wanted good clamps and I had an old ugly generic "Suzuki" highway pegs kit laying in the garage.. So I removed the clamps from the pegs:

As I wanted very short and sturdy pegs, I had an idea. I had a pair of Trek bicycle handlebar grips that were no use. I cut them in half (about 2 1/2") and "JB Welded" (new verb) them to the aluminium shaft of the Suzuki pegs.

That is very short but just good enough to rest my feets. Moreover, there is plenty of room to scrape the NC pegs and Givi cases long before those would touch the pavement.

Thanks Frank! If time permits, I guess I will have to fire up the mill and make a set that I want.
