Frankly I could care less about wind as long as it's not making its way up to my helmet to make noise, or up to my hands in cold weather. But a little convenience in splitting up the carrying of tools/supplies, and some protection that may totally negate the need for engine guards/crash bars if done right, I can get into. But the mounting method that would achieve this needs to keep them from easily rotating up into the sides of the radiator when a slide or nap is being taken, and the tubes need to be stronger, like ABS pipe.
