Yes, you were the one that suggested chain tension.
I'm not 100% sure that it was the culprit...
I'd like to add a couple hundred miles or so to be certain
There are other factors like ambient temp, wind direction...whatever, but the chain sure appears to have been the source.
either way, I'm...
Well, got the bike back from my local dealer.
Tech said the chain needed to be tightened up, but noted no loose exhaust fasteners.
I noticed no unusual noises during the enjoyable ride home at speeds where I had noticed them before.
They had done some work on my other bikes recently....
No...
So, a kindred spirit maybe...
No vibration issue that I notice though...although I seldom hit 80 mph.
Also, mine is a DCT.
Thanks for the replies all
Mine was at the shop today to check for exhaust leaks and chain maintenance while they're at it.
I'll report back after.. it's really a minor...

These have been some good thoughts and suggestions (for the most part, always must expect a little humor, grumps, and jokers)
All good...
I was hoping that someone might chime in with...Oh yah.. mine did the exact same thing... It's the __________!
This weekend, I'll check the chain...
Yah.. I thought of that
Had the dealer do it when it was there for winter storage...
I sorta eyeballed it... looked okay
Maybe worth a closer inspection though
Could be flappin' around and occasionally hitting sumthin' or nuther
Noise sounds like it's coming from the front / R side though
Thanks
no, that's not it
I'm already well into tinnitus...

I like this answer best so far...
My "sound" is random, not really rhythmic, and is present at steady throttle, 60 mph+, not when accelerating hard.
Originally, I was thinking loose exhaust header bolts..
On some bikes, break-in services instruct you to check them at the first...
No, not inclined to think that's it.
The sporadic nature doesn't lend itself to that.... I even squeezed the brake a little at speed to check it out.
Thanks for playing...
Hello all
Been riding my 2016 DCT700 a bit more these days.
1,600 miles now
In fact, for the first time ever, I whacked it wide open in Sport mode the other day and let it do its thing all the way up to 85 mph with-out backing off the go stick. Pleasantly surprised at how hard it pulls, and...
"looks" are a small part of my consideration when choosing a screen, hardly "what I'm after"...
I believe that my NC7 is a decent / good looking bike.
Grafting a tall screen on the front of it ruins the aesthetics in my minds eye.
I do know that "pretty is as pretty does"
The GIVI Airflows...
Yes, I purchased the lowest Touring screen from calsci.. looks the least bad to me.
I was searching for NC700 screens... your MRA link is for NC750... which is not in the US market. Should have thought to search for the 750 even though mine is a 700
I like the look of the MRA Vario Touring...
Hello all,
I took delivery of my 2016 NC700DCT last week.
I've been accustomed to BMWs for the last 10-15 years... R1200GSs, RTs and K1200GTs, all pruned a bit to enhance wind and weather protection.
In that time I've had a few V-Strom 650s as well... GIVI Airflow windscreens work magic on...
