I have been back riding for 5 years now (I am in my mid 40's)...and have been "working my way up the ladder" bike wise.
Started on a scooter (Yamaha BW50) and then got "the bug"..I ride what ever I own at least 10 000kms a season. The next season I bought a CBR125r. Great little bike...
I am aware of what tires that fit the NC700 ...but I wanted input it to what tires people liked for gravel travel. Theres nothing like first hand information from people who use/have the tires !! Thanks everyone !!
I am due for a new set of tires on the NC700x this winter. I presently run a TKC80 front/K60Scout rear and really like it. I am really kicking around trying something else. ...... like maybe Shinko 705's. I do enjoy gravel travel and don't want to sacrifice dirt riding. If you didn't run my...
If i decide to go with the Shinko 705 ....will a 120/90-17 OR 130/80-17 work on the front without fender mods ???
I would like to try the 705's I think !!! LOL
Yeah I too have a skidplate and noticed that the lowers won't work !!! I thought maybe a 3" piece of hard plastic, hose clamped/zip tied to the crashbar just might deflect wind past my legs !! I don't want it to look too "farmer fixed" though !! LOL
I presently run K60-rear / TKC80-front and have been thinking about switching to Shinko 705 BUT worried about gravel travel as i do enjoy riding back roads . Are they any good ? Is there any other tires I should consider ??
Funny you should post this today..... I too have H&B crash bars and was eyeing it up for some sort of wind deflector on them for leg wind protection. Those factory Honda upper wind deflectors do look good though !!!
I just bought a Schuberth C3 ......and I love it. For years and bought reasonably priced helmets and always had small issues and questionable fitment......so finally bit-the-bullet and bought this helmet !! Best helmet I ever had !!
I too run a TKC80 up front and YES I do notice the noise !!! I really like the ability to ride gravel and DON'T want to give up gravel traction but would like a quieter tire. Just did a tour through BC and the TKC80 handled the twisties very good (especially for a knobbie) . Been a great tire...
Yeah ...love that road into Stewart/Hyder !!! The scenery and waterfalls is incrediable and the Bear Glacier is pretty cool as its sooo close to the road. I was there 2 years ago on my Vancouver Island tour...rode the Island and then took ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert and up to Hyder ...
