Installed Hand Guards

I installed my new hand guards last week but I had to wait for the snow to melt before I got to try them. It was below freezing last night so I thought ice would be my biggest worry. As I was backing down the ramp out of my shed the rear tire sunk several inches into the mud. I couldn't move backward or forward (even under power). I could not put the kick stand down either so I dismounted. As I was studying the situation the neighbors doberman that runs loose in the neighborhood started jumping on me and I lost my focus and the bike was then leaning too far over so I had to gently put it down.

I have zero experience in trail riding so this was a new situation for me. I put some sand down so I would not slip and I picked up the bike using the method learned on this forum and was then able to push the bike into the driveway. The only damage I see is on the windshield which was leaning on the door frame.

The hand guards work, but in the 30 degree weather my hands were still cold in my Alpinestar WR-3 winter gloves. I may have to get heated ones but all the battery powered ones seem to have as many negative reviews as positive. maybe next winter the technology will be a little farther along.

I took a short cut in yard Sunday.softer then i thought also, spun all the way to sidewalk,i think a hugger will be next.i wipe mud off tires and above fender under tail.what a mess but i got most of it.looks good with some dirt on it.

Installed new Bridgestone BattleWing 80/20 rear tire. Took it for a ride, High Frequency vibration between 60 and 70 mph. Went back home to make sure all was ok. Dot was perfect with the stem, rotation was correct. Forgot to put Ride On in tire. Put Ride On in the tire. Back on road no more vibrations all the way to top end speed. Now we are Riding again - Perfectly Balanced!6.jpg

Heated apparel plug in. I installed it where tank is not, panel next to the frunk, as I saw other members on this forum do. It works great in this location. Often I forget to plug in on a cold morning, and use to have to get off bike to plug in. Not an easy task when you have a 29 inch inseam. Now just plug in while sitting on the bike. Great idea, that I have to thank other forum members for.

Again you impress me with your knack to be prepared and efficient. So you plug the small connector into the female from the gerbings/other heated gear connection and route this to the upper panel next to frunk, correct? Clean and more safe, I like it. I think I want to do same. Thanks. I found it on the list so order is in ..... Thanks again

I've been messing with this awhile, but I'm almost done painting my NC700X. One more coat of clear ought to do it. The pictures lie a little, as the color is a little darker than what you see here. In dark lighting it's almost looks closer to brown. In the sun, the pearl coat sparkles. It's called Honda Sunburst Orange Pearl (YR232P), and was used on the 2002 GL1800 and on some late model Honda cars. I'm usually a fan of brighter colors than this, but the NC has so much black on it I think a medium color like this will look best. (BTW, my NC was grey when I bought it).

As you can see, I also painted the top of the Kappa trunk to match. Will post full bike views and some more painting process details once it's all back together!

Installed my new Akropovic exhaust today. Wanted something that was lighter, thinner, and less bling looking than stock, but didn't want it to be louder if i could avoid it. This exhaust doesn't really add much overall noise, but gives it a throatier sound. so far, I am pleased
