Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Mike. I currently own a 2018 Kawasaki ZX10RR. I just ordered a 2012 Honda NC700X. I've looked at several bikes to fit what I want to do. I plan to ride two up from time to time, but mostly explore the dirt roads and trails within a few hundred miles from home. This seems to be the prefect bike for that. I don't want anything overly powerful as my wife is going to be piloting it as well from time to time.

Anyway, glad to find the forum as I'll have lots of questions on mods and riding in general.

"2012 Honda NC700X" ?! That is some serious New Old Stock! ;)

Welcome to the forum.

Not the best bike for 2 up riding, as the pillion accommodations are pretty poor, especially the lame pillion seat.
Maybe test drive first with wife before buying?
She's a trooper. It's got to be far better than the passenger seat on the ZX10RR. She'll have a backrest and we can always improve the seat. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Yes, I lucked out and found a 2012 with 1800 miles on it. The price was perfect.
Wow. That bike was ridden, on average, only about 180 miles a year.

Good find.

It might need a battery, brake fluid change, tires, etc. due to age.

I got really lucky with this one. It's coming from a reputable dealer that does a full, detailed inspection before releasing it. It also comes with a free limited warranty. It's got a few blemishes, but nothing to be concerned with. Other than that, it's damn near perfect. It comes with these extras:
HONDA PANNIERS AND TOPBOX
TALL WINDSHIELD
BARKBUSTERS
SHAD SEAT
RAM BALL
UPGRADED GRIPS

My wife's a trooper too, but after her first ride of a half hour when I got the bike, she said "this thing is horrible", and hasn't ridden with me since.
But she was very spoiled by my last bike, a Goldwing F6B.
A ZX100RR must be REALLY pathetic for a pillion!

Pathetic is an understatement. Imagine sitting on a fencepost, leaning forward, nothing to hold onto, while your legs are bent in squat position. She was a sport biker. That's how we met. I'm keeping her away from Goldwings. I don't want her to get any ideas...lol.

Let us know what you think of the tall windshield, if it’s the OEM Honda accessory touring windscreen. Most people find them to be very noisy.

I’d ask the dealer if they bled in new brake fluid. I doubt they did.

I've put 67000 miles on mine 2 up. after the first week I moved the stock top box back 4" for more room.
I work in a machine shop, so could make my own adapter but with a little creativity, you should find a way.
