hmm, maybe the return trip I-75 n to I-20, I-20 to I-40 and I-40 to California.
1000 miles in 20 hours is an average of 50mph, not 60. Nothing kills average speed like time spent at zero miles per hour.
As I have noted, math and I are not on speaking terms.... but...
1000 / 60 = 16.6
it seemed safe to round 16.6 to 17. Did I do something wrong in the calculation?
My GPS has a means of choosing an "alternate" route, but it doesn't take actual traffic into account. I think it just chooses the 2nd best route it discovered when calculating the first. If things are backed up on I-40 between Memphis and Little Rock, highway 70 parallels the interstate just to the south to Little Rock. Be aware of heavy, heavy truck traffic on this stretch as well.
Nick's in Carlisle, AR is a good place to get some grub.
Construction from Little Rock west to Conway and construction through Russellville. Highway 64 parallels the interstate from just west of Conway to Alma (almost the state line). You shouldn't need to detour for very many miles if at all. Just know that there are alternate routes. Follow the trucks, especially if you see many taking the same exit. This is especially true between Memphis and Little Rock.
Bammamate is in Conway and I'm in Russellville.
Have a safe return,
Mike
You passed 30 miles from me without stopping to sat hello? This is a portion of the route I just took this weekend. I-75 into Atlanta can get pretty crazy where it intersects with I-20. I think there may have been some condtruction there too. Can anyone validate that? I just drove through there Sunday. I was crawlingvat 20mph.
