Just saw this in my mailbox...Daily Kos: Sudden Stratospheric Warming Split the Polar Vortex in Two
Granted this isn't the 1st time it has happened but it helps explain 35f in San Diego a couple of days ago. I've lived in NM since 96 and don't remember it staying this cold this long. It finally got into the 40's today, which was nice. Worrisome though for the future. Especially for folks on the coasts.
