What is this blank plastic piece below the instrument panel?

I just bought a 2021 NC750x DCT. There is a plastic plug below the instrument panel - see pics below - What is this for? I think it is removable but I failed to push it out from below. I think I will have to get a thin screw driver in from below to pry plastic tabs up and down (bottom and top) while pushing it up from below. It's an ideal location for a power port or switch of some kind.

Does this year's model have the plug under the fairing for a Honda accessory harness (aka quartet harness from the ST1300 bikes)? Anyone know a part number? I could not find accessories on Honda's parts fiches.
