The NC700x is most likely going to be my first bike. I am not looking for a super sports bike, and I am basically just going to use it as a commuter to/from work, and of course the occasional weekend warrior.

One question I do have is the seat height compared to some other models. I know that I am going to look funny on most bikes anyways; being 6ft 6inch (1.92m) tall.

What are your thoughts on someone who has long legs riding this bike? I think my inseam is somewhere around 34-36in (~.9m)

Hey Poot, can't say I've ever seen anybody look funny on a bike, funny thing is, you can immediately see the enjoyment riders are having! Best is to go take it for a ride, if you feel comfortable, it's for you. If not, get something higher.
Happy riding!

Poot, the NC700X is already a fairly tall bike (830mm seat height). You might only feel a bit cramped with the foot-peg location (knee bent too much) on long trips. Aftermarket will probably offer peg lowering kits at some point to address that for you taller riders. Me, I will probably seek to get it lowered a bit. . . :)

Poot, the first thing to decide is whether you really want this unique bike. If you do, then there will be a number of things you can do to increase the distance between seat and pegs if you decide that your knees are bent uncomfortably tight after riding the bike for a while. My recommendation would be to get the seat remodeled with a bit of extra padding by one of the many specialists who do this. Or you could just buy one of the strap-on inflatable or gel cushions available. Honestly tho, based on 3 weeks owning/riding my NC-X, my recommendation would be buy one and make it fit. The bike is a gem that does everything more than good enough and still puts a big smile on my face every time I stop at the gas station or open the 'trunk' to throw some stuff in.

Thanks for all of the responses!

I didn't realized that the seat height was that large. That is definitely a plus for me.

There is NO WAY that I am not going to get this bike, so I will have to make changes to it if it isn't comfortable.

I drive a 2006 Subaru Impreza, which is a small car so I am pretty sure I could handle leg cramming if needed.

Thanks for the feedback!

You will fit the bike, no problem. The X will probably have more assessories than the S. That is also a consideration. I know someone in Germany, who is same height as you, and he chose the S. Hope this helps.

Poot:
I'm 6'4", 250 lbs. + and wear a 34 or 36" inseam depending on who makes the britches. I'm quite comfortable on the NC700X. Two things you'll probably want to address:
1) Get the Honda touring screen, at the very least. A Madstad screen would be better. The air coming over the little stock screen will try to rip your helmet off on a windy day and you'll wind up having to ride in a tuck on the freeway. I put an extra shim on the top bolts of my Honda touring screen to stand it a bit more upright which helped considerably.
2) Do something about the slippery seat. I put an Alaska Leathers sheepskin on mine. The pegs are directly under you so hard breaking will want to slide you up on the frunk.
You may also eventually want to raise the bars a bit. Several folks have comments on that in this forum.
Enjoy!

Hey guys, is it me reading this wrong, or was his question from April 2012?

Yep. Good catch. According to Poot's posts, he got impatient and bought a Yamaha FZ6 before the NC ever hit the States.

Just curious, I get confused with the user info block under the avatars on this site. His says NC700x June 2012. And I didn't realize this forum was running in April of Last year. When did news of the NC700X first get announced?

The NC700 was formally announced in January of 2012 and launched in the US in August 2012 As usual, I think the Continentals got it earlier.
