I was playing with it with a guy at work and it works pretty much just like the bluetooth intercom. A leader sets up a group, it assigns a number and everyone types in that number. You can mute and the leader can even override mutes and send group announcements to everyone. Overall pretty cool - great for groups, especially on highways where bluetooth distance is exceeded. Not sure how useful for 2 bike rides.
It doesn't use much data... like 20mb an hour.

Same app functionality for years for most Midland intercomms.
And there is Zello app intercom brand agnositc, you can use it on any BT intercom, or just regular handsfree BT. But it always use mobile internet connection (very low mobile data consumption anyway, if you don't walk all the time).

I read about this app too. I downloaded it, but keep forgetting to configure it. Glad to see some real-world feedback.

I can't wait to try it out... I have been anxiously waiting for SOMEONE (!!!) to get THEIR Sena installed so we can try it.

Wow this is really cool, I can see this being useful the next time someone in our group gets separated. When that happens now they have to make a phone call and call someone in the group, and that person has to drop out of the group intercom and take the call. This will make it all seamless, and lets you keep your focus on the road.
