Rossi vs. Lorenzo: Incredible final lap.

Great!
But that was 2009....
Lets hope for great races in 2013.

Following is non-motorcycle related but a surewin for Rossi fans:

Can't ride a Ducati like stoner though can he :)

now Rocker that Ducaty was a different bike all together when stoner road it.
at the time stoner won the championship he had the fastest bike.
and if you look at the race's he won all the races on the long track but on some short tracks he was beaten on corners.
why do you think he jump ship the after the second year. it was obvious that Ducati was rubbish in corners.
it had the speed but had no corner feel etc.
and remember it was the new 800 and not the 1000 that Rossi road.
all 800 were slow as they were set up for corner speed and by Ducati own admission their bike was geared for outright speed and not corners.
when Stoner came to the corners and if any of the riders were near him they would beat him on the corners but on the straight he had the speed
and left them for dead
so in my book Stoner would not have been a world champ on the Ducati that year.
but on the other hand he earned his championship on the Honda so you can't take that away from him.

A fan is a fan.
No matter what the guy does, a fan always loves his hero.

Rossi was very good. He was like Michael Jordon, 2nd was way way away.
Last 4 years he was only so-so.
Bikes performance issues?
Not really. Other riders have caught up with the pace.
Tires? Maybe.
Whatever the case, a fan is always a fan.

Everyone loves a winner.
In motor-racing, no one remembers no.2.

That was truly an incredible move by Rossi. The patience, the drive, and the execution! Too bad that those moments in MotoGP are few and far in between. The bikes are amazing and the talent level is no doubt the highest of all motorcycle racing. But for the most part, the series is more about the individual personality and drama. Racing is usually decided after 5 laps.

I much prefer the WSBK, which has been a much better series in recent years. in 2012, 4 manufacturers all had a shot at the championship. If you can find it, watch the 2012 WSBK Donington Park. The most exciting 2 races I've seen in a long time.
