I have a deposit down on a 2016 NC700X DCT, and was offered the following:

7550 Base
350 delivery
Set up waived
50 UCC fee
89 Admin fee
27 Title fee

8066 OTD

Optional: install heated grips and accessory outlet for 592 (parts and labor)

Does this seem like a good deal, in line with what others have been seeing? I live in MA and am buying in NH, so I'll be on the hook for another 6.25% in sales tax.

That's about what I paid for my 2016. I told them I'd pay MSRP if they ate the nuisance fees, so they agreed and did the numbers as: $7999 + $99 doc fee + TTL =~ $8658 OTD

I had $500 deposit and financed it 48 mos. @ %2.24 so my real cost is somewhere around $9131. :)
(I have other investments that have more return than that so it made sense to get a loan rather than liquidate them. This is the only debt I have now.)

The hardest part of buying it for me was shopping for insurance. The 2016 model of this bike is not in anyone's system yet.
Over the phone I told them it was essentially the same as the 2015 so most used that as a basis for the quote.

I found that State Farm had the cheapest insurance on it by far. I got a peek into their computer systems and for bikes that are too new to have a profile yet (this one) the cost is based off of some formula involving MSRP / Market Value and engine displacement.
According to that, a Ninja 650 would be cheaper to insure. :) If you're planning to add thousands in farkles, make sure to get coverage for those. I need to call my agent and send him pictures and receipts of all the stuff I've added because State Farm does not provide total loss coverage (replacement) or coverage for accessories. They essentially price motorcycle insurance like cars. YMMV.

MA doesn't charge sales tax? That's a crazy good price OTD for 2016 DCT model.

No, MA DOES charge sales tax, but I bought the bike in NH which does not charge sales tax (only dealership I could find the bike - they had to take it out of the crate, which means zero miles on it!) Add another $500-600 for TTL, but the dealership didn't collect that, I'll have to pay when I register it myself Monday.

Which means yes, I did buy the bike. Ended up getting a better deal on the parts because they quoted me for 2015 parts. When I asked them why the pricing looked off they chopped like 15% off MSRP for the parts. Pick it up Monday afternoon! I'll post some pics when I get it.

Sounds like a decent deal...do you have a center stand? I had my dealer put the heated grips and center stand on the bike before delivery...didn't want to deal with those jobs myself.

I didn't get the center stand yet, that was number three on the list and I had to show some restraint in adding more goodies (I went with the heated grips and 12V outlet). As soon as I save up enough money I'll bring it back to have them install a center stand.

You can buy the 2015 centerstand for $107 shipped from ProCaliber.com

It's a pain in the *** to install due to those springs though, but there are several posts here about it you can search.
Might be worth it to pay the dealer's labor for that.

If you have a DCT you might want to consider aftermarket non-oem heated grips like the Oxford series.

The OEM heated grips include a throttle tube that is designed for the manual version of the bike.

The wire from the grip exits in a weird place on the DCT because the DCT's throttle cables exit the housing downwards and not forwards like on the manual.

Shoot. Already got the OEM accessories ordered. Haven't taken delivery of the bike yet, would it be worth changing that order for the grips?

I've had OEM factory grips on mine since Day 1....26,000 miles ago. No issues whatsoever and I like how slick the temp adjustments are.

It bothers some, others not. I don't find myself changing modes while driving, so it won't be a problem for me. Just try it the way it comes.

So Honda may have fixed the heated grips issue with the 2016 models because there are different part numbers for them depending on if you have the manual or DCT:

DCT Heated Grips w/attachment Kit: 08T70-MJM-A01
Manual Heated Grips w/attachment Kit: 08T70-MJN-A01

Can you show us pictures when you get it installed?

I think you got a good price. I paid $8K OTD for the bike and Centerstand for my 2015 DCT. That doesn't include the 9% sales tax that they charge in Los Angeles, CA county though That's what I get for living in the Socialist Republic of California. I also pay 9% income tax. You are going to want the center stand. It provides a solid base for doing maintenance and cleaning your bike. You will probably want a new seat as well. A few people here like the stock seat, but 90% find it painful, as did I.

FINALLY had my parts installed last week - there was some issue with either the heated grips or the accessory outlet where Honda wasn't shipping them. Everything seems to be working, I'll work on getting some photos uploaded later on to show what the heated grips look like.

I was hoping this seat would break in, but after close to 1k miles I still get pretty sore during an extended ride. Any good aftermarket options available yet?

To bad your not in the Pacific NW. Hillsboro Honda still has 2014 NC700x DCT new in the crate for 6,999. I paid 4,999 for my 2014 700x new in the crate. Even had to twist an arm to sell it to me when they found out it was Vinn # 1. For that price I just about took 2 of them. still eyeing the DCT for in town.
