I never understood why the 'adventure' (occasional trails) NC has Z rated tires and not GS style dual sport fitments.
I learned in the 90s' Honda part #'ered BS tires had an R stamping following the model designation on the sidewall for the ST13.
It had a 32nd or 2 more tread depth than the same tire bought from a dealer when tire size only, was submitted. It did not have the R stamping, thus shorter tire life.
Honda fits Dunlops on about everything and may go w/a (ST13) BS 170/60ZR-17 rear #42711-MCS-G04 when the time comes and an 'over the counter' BS BT020 front.
The 170 is .4" wider than the 160 but will check clearances before buying. But I'll be at the 5 year mark on the OEM Metzlers, when tires are considered too hard to be safe, before I hit the wear indicators.
I am very comfortable on BS tires and is my tire of choice.
