I have one (clear one)and cannot se any difference at night. The only complain I have is that the dual lock velcro that came with the protector was cheapo style...I replaced it.

I did the same the round ones that I used (check photo above) came from another source. No change in the beam pattern that I can tell.

Looking at that I might have a go at making one from the stock screen that came with the bike.
