It stands to reason that brands in an exploding industry like that of our electric Powersports markets would be constantly experimenting with new ways to improve zero-emission transit – and CAKE has done just that with the debut of a new energy source for her bikes.

Meet the “Jante” – an electric Internal Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor for the Swedish motorbike company’s electric offerings.
Previously, we were used to seeing CAKE’s utilitarian-focused bikes show off an average range of 53-56 miles – not much by the standards of other electric marques like Zero Motorcycles and Energica, but based on the records they’ve been breaking in multiple areas of our industry, the specs have been servicing them reasonably well up to this point.
According to CAKE’s recent press release, the Jante – currently powering their newest MX-inspired “Bukk” model – features the following design perks:

The CAKE Jante contains a rating of IP67; to anybody unfamiliar with the measuring system, that means this baby is literally so watertight and dust-resistant that you can wash the thing in freaking water, and it’ll be the better for it, allowing riders to “operate in any condition.”
It’s the ideal motor to chuck into rev-happy hoon machines for the new generations of motorcyclists in our economy today – and CAKE CEO and Founder Stefan Ytterborn is more than a little excited to share the news.
“We are very excited to introduce our new high-performance Jante Drivetrain,” states Ytterborn.
“The Jante represents a significant advancement in CAKE’s electric motor design… The biggest reason for our in-house developed motor is to take major steps forward, increasing performance for the category of lightweight electric motorcycles. At the heart of our vehicles, everything is based on CAKE components that together deliver performance to the next level.”

“We are happy to see our drivetrain technology being used in a number of bold projects. CAKE battery controller algorithms and more are already in other builds, and the new Jante is a significant addition to our drivetrain technology.” finishes Ytterborn.
With CAKE adding fast-swapping technology to their battery (in and out in a purported 30 seconds “without the need for tools”), we imagine this little thing will be well used for seasons to come.

- Dual-bearing shaft for better durability and reliability
- Low cogging that allows smooth acceleration and precision handling at low speeds
- Air-cooled system allows high torque at high RPM
- Compact and lightweight design with the potential to be used in multiple models
