Hmmm didn't realise that my thread would cause so much of an issue on the basis that it was meant to be a joke rather than some serious upset being caused. On this side of the pond we call them P**** stripes like the same way cigarettes are called F***S

I think its a matter of what phrases people use locally. Harald- I agree with you, this is an international NC community so you can expect different phrases being used.

I apologise if this thread has caused so much debate, happy to have it deleted if thats what people want. It still wont change what we call them here!

Personally, I am absolutely fine with it! Was just poking some fun...

Do we have nothing else to talk about on this forum other than argue AGAIN on how butt hurt everyone is over a swear word of any sort. I don't understand why you guys are so uptight on this forum, forums are just a way for a bunch of guys who ride the same bike to tell each other stuff to do to the bike, do some group rides and tell jokes. Only two things actually happen here, 1 people do things they think are cool and funny, and 2 is everyone cutting them down for having an opinion or saying a dirty word/joke. Lets enjoy each others company and stop being Internet tough guys and forum rocket scientists... If where he's from pussy strips is normal let him say it that way.... And let's make jokes about it because its funny to call them pussy strips, don't cut the guy down.

I hear you, I really do.

Every Forum I'm a member on, has it's own distilled version of what's funny and what isn't, what's offensive and what's not. Some people have their belts on tighter than the next guy, and others would wear no pants if they could.

This site isn't Pirate 4x4 or ADV or 4Chan.

It is what it is, and I am very appreciative of it, and the great members here. I try to see humour where I can, bite my tongue sometimes and reign in my off colour posts before I hit enter.

I'm willing to temper my out-loud voice, because I just generally want to be here to talk with all you guys and gals, like a big friendly family, Mom's, Dad's, and kids included.

Now that was funny! AND, AND it passes the politeness test. It's witty and highly off color... but not crude.
I still wouldn't make that joke in a job interview....but it's an improvement.
