The 2023 Suzuki GSX-R600 Is A Rowdy Entry To The GSX-R Line
Contents
When most people think of an entry-level sport bike, they probably think of a boring detuned, cheapo version of a bigger superbike, but not with the 2023 Suzuki lineup – the baby Gixxer, or GSX-R600 as Suzuki calls it, is not a bike for the faint of heart. It’s an entry-level bike only because it happens to be the smallest unit that carries the legendary GSX-R nomenclature.
At the heart of this little GSX-R is a 104 hp, 44 lb-ft, 599cc inline-four. Weighing in at just 412 lbs, this unit can really pack a big punch into a small package. As with the rest of the GSX-R lineup, the 600cc iteration is a race track-bred machine that can still function as a fantastic street rider. Much of the bike’s technology and engineering is passed down from lessons learned by Suzuki’s now-shuttered MotoGP racing team. Sure this isn’t the prototype ridden by Alex Rins and Joan Mir last season, but the 2023 GSX-R600 is perfectly at home on the race track, sporting a set of Showa Big Piston Front-fork (BPF) inverted front forks and an electronically controlled steering damper, among other race-ready features.
This Japanese-built machine is available in two packages: The base model, and the GSX-R600Z package, a purely cosmetic upgrade which adds on a MotoGP-inspired livery for an additional $100.
The 2023 iteration of this bike is available for purchase in two dual-tone colours in the united states – Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Matte Stellar Blue and Glass Sparkle Black / Glass Mat Mechanical Gray. Meanwhile, in the Canadian market the GSX-R600 is only availabe in the Black and Gray colour scheme. Both markets also offer the Z package.
The 2023 Suzuki GSX-R600 starts at $11,699 USD / $12,899 CAD.
