A warm welcome to one of the newest motorcycles among Suzuki’s 2023 offerings – the GSX-8S. The GSX-S line is one of Suzuki’s most popular, so it doesn’t come as a shocker that they would want to fill it in some more and appeal to as many riders as possible – especially given the recent popularity of the midsize naked bike market.
Readers may be thinking that the GSX-S750 and the 8S could be too close together in the market, however, the new kid on the block has a few tricks up its sleeve to set it apart. For starters, it breaks from tradition and uses a brand new 776cc parallel-twin instead of the inline-four powerplant that its little brother uses. The new two-cylinder engine makes a reported 82 hp and 57.5 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the bike has received all-new styling, which Suzuki says is meant to “usher in a new era of functional beauty.” The bike’s design is quite obviously inspired b the larger GSX-S1000 and could indicate future redesigns for the rest of the Suzuki family.
The 2023 Suzuki GSX-8S is packed with Suzuki’s latest technological features, including the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS). This system creates a more enjoyable and safer ride by incorporating features like a bi-directional quick shifter, a multi-mode traction control system, ABS, and a ride-by-wire throttle setup. On top of SIRS, the 8S also comes from the factory equipped with a 5-inch colour LCD instrument panel and LED lighting all around.
As one of the newest Japanese motorcycles in the streetfighter class, we certainly think that the GSX-8S has a bright future ahead. The bike is currently available in three colourways – Pearl Cosmic Blue, Pearl Tech White, and two-tone Metallic Mat Black No.2/Glass Sparkle Black.

THE NEW GSX-8S ENGINE
