I don't think anyone ever said to ignore the maintenance guidelines. All I said was that if you don't do them at the first service, it will probably be okay.
Worked for Honda for years. Did numerous services on "Streetbikes where the customer requested valve adjustment. I was an honest service manager so I would advise the customer that it was recommended by Honda but not something typically needed. I can not recall ever needing to set...
So after my second full day of cutting and fitting and cutting and ruining and gluing, I have no choice but to deem my attempt a fail. Although from a distance it does not look terrible, the gaps are way off. When I mocked everything up it fit perfect, but when it started going together...
Thanks everyone. I was more just joking about everyone giving me a hard time, everyone on here is pretty cool. I dont mind criticism anyway. I am going to be finishing the project up here hopefully this weekend, although my wedding might get in the way :) I told my girl no honeymoon until...
Turn signals will be low profile and I am going to mount them on a very simple bracket that I plan to make for the license plate. as far as getting to the bulb, I think it will actually be very easy. Lift the back seat and it it right there. Still need to work it out with the mechanism for...
Of course I completely disassembled the tail light down to the just the lens. I was going to leave the tabs on the bottom of the tail light but for space it was necessary to cut them off. I also had to cut the light itself pretty extensively. It took several times and lots of cutting and fine...
Since I have not been using my NC for commuting any more I have decided to go a little more minimalist. I removed the rear case, and the side cases, got my new muffler mounted on there properly and my exhaust wrapped. I have wanted to do a tidy tail for a long time but could not justify the...
Decided I really liked my YZ450 exhaust pipe so I turned my temporary clamp job into a permanent weld on. Then I wanted to clean up the look so I got an exhaust wrap from the local auto parts store. I got a 25 ft roll of 2 inch which allowed me to double in up from the muffler to the cat. I...
So I have not been on in a while and I looked around this morning and saw everyone talking about the DANMOTO pipe and it inspired me. I have wanted to do something with the exhaust on my bike for a while but could not bring myself to spend the 500 for the Yoshimura pipe that I wanted. I have...
Taking off in first is not really any different to me. I don't find myself slipping the clutch anymore than normal. I do notice that I have more time till I need to shift though. Seems like a lot of positives and no real negatives. I am an optimist though.
At highway speeds I do not notice any more lag. I took my girlfriend down the interstate with all the luggage on the bike and loaded down. Just the RPM's were lower, no more lag.
I had to remove two links. The sprocket was actually a fair amount smaller. As far as the acceleration, like I said in my other post, I felt no real difference in the feel of the pull. It accelerates just as hard if you want it to or you can lug it more and keep the rpm's down easier. I...
Just wrote about my new 39 tooth rear sprocket on another thread in the technical section. Instead of going down just two on the rear or trying to find a front in a different size, just order a rear sprocket from Honda for a DCT model. The stock is 43 and the DCT is 39. Makes a big change and...
